Youth and Heritage Festival of Education Colleges

Ludhiana: 6 October 2013: (Punjab Screen Bureau): The Third day of Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Education Colleges (Zone-B) at Partap College of Education was celebrated with great pomp and show.  The hue and colours of festivities was spread everywhere.  Dr. Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examination, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest.  Students from different colleges performed in Dramas and Skits with such an elegance that the audience was spellbound.  They got emotionally charged during the theatrical items.  Histrionics and Mimicry left everybody in peels of laughter, while Mime fabricated the social reality true excellent expression and gestures.  During the various literary items like Debate, Poetical Recitation and Elocution put forth their point of view very logically and convincingly which enthralled everybody.  While Art and craft items like Rangoli, Embroidery Phulkari/ Bagh
Embroidery Dasuti/Cross Stich, Pakhi Designing, Crochet work, Knitting and Mehandi Designing went side by side and won every heart.

Dr. Balwant Singh, the Principal of the host college and convener accorded a formal welcome to one and all.  Prof. Mukesh Arora (Fellow, Panjab University, Chandigarh) and Dr. Vijay (Deputy Director, Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana), Prof. Gurminder Kaur (Principal, Govt. College for Girls, Ludhiana)  were guests of honour.  Dr. Nirmal Jaura (Director, Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh), Dr. J.P. Parkash, (Chairman, Partap Charitable Trust) and Dr. Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal (Secretary, Partap Charitable Trust, Ludhiana) grace the occasion.  Dr. Parvinder Singh in his speech stressed upon the need of preserving our rich culture.  He also suggested that some seats should be reserved for the students who excel in cultural, literary and Fine Art Items.  Dr. Mukesh Arora endorsed this suggestion. The Principals of various Education Colleges also added grace to the function by their presence.  The whole atmosphere was charged with unlimited fun, emotions and heated action. Skills like time management, coordination and ready wit were at stakes.  The audience was seen cheering for and applauding the performers whole heartedly throughout the day. Dr. Vijay and Dr. Gurminder Kaur, distributed the prizes to the winners.   The top three positions in various events were secured by the following.
