Christmas- 2013 functions in CMC

A rain of great joy and religious fervor
Ludhiana, 14th December, 2013:(Shalu Arora and Rector Kathuria):
As usual Christmas was celebrated in CMC with great joy and religious fervor. Different areas/wards in the hospital were tastefully decorated with Christmas trees, colored lights and Christmas stars. Different departments in CMC had their departmental Christmas parties and get-togethers. The college chapel and hospital chapel were both nicely decorated.
The Christmas celebrations which began on 12th December lasted till 17th of December 2013. The high point of all these programs was the Christmas Campfire celebrated in the CMC Children’s Park on the eve of 14th December 2013. The Director Dr.Abraham G Thomas gave the welcome address and wished everyone A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BLESSED NEW YEAR.Xmas denotes birth of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. At CMC it is time of re commitment to our mission of compassionate care to people.

Christmas carols (English, Hindi, Malyalam & Punjabi) were presented by different choir groups. The audience of about 1400 staff and their families was enthralled by the lively presentations by different groups. The institutional choir consisting of 60 students was conducted by Ms.Saarh Dayal with music by organist. Ms.Jenifer accompanied by violinists, Mr.Anurag and Mr.Azaz Prim. The senior choir had 15 seniors doctors singing to the music by the organist Dr.Arpit Mathew, the violinists, Dr.Aaron and Dr.Vinay Gaikwad, Dr.Varghese Thomas on the Euphonium was conducted by Dr.Jacob Koshy.

A group of faculty children in colorful dresses singing carols was a feast to the eyes. Besides there were Christmas carols by the Marthoma Church, Orthodox Syrian church and Catholic Church. The nursing department, College of Nursing and Ancillary staff group also presented vibrant Hindi and Punjabi Christmas songs. A beautiful choreography by the Sunday School. Children of Kalvary Chrurch(CNI) added to the Charm of the eve.

The Guest of Honour the Rt.Re
V.Younas Massey, Bishop, Diocese of Chandigarh, Church of North India delivered the Christmas message. Other dignitaries present included Mdical Superintendent Dr.Kanwal Masih, Principal Medical College Dr.S.Bhatti, Principal Dental College Dr.Abhi Thomas.
