The first meeting of the State Council held today
Ludhiana: 23 Feb 2014: (Punjab Screen Bureau):
The first meeting of the State Council of IMA Punjab for the
year 2014 was held at IMA Bhawan BRS Nagar Ludhiana on 23-02-2014.
The State Council unanimously decided that Dr Manoj Sobti will continue as President till the new
President takes over . He was further authorized
to constitute his team .
The State council discussed various issues related to the
medical profession like , Property tax , VAT and notices to nursing
homes by the Muncipal Corporation Ludhiana. Dr Sobti told the house that talks
on these issues are being held with the Govt and soon some decision will be
taken in this regard.
Dr GS Gill past president informed the house that the
controversial order by the Chairman of Punjab Pollution Control Board asking
the hospitals in Punjab to tie up with a particular Common Biomedical waste treatment
facility has been withdrawn under the pressure of IMA Punjab. IMA Punjab thanks
the Punjab Govt for that .
At the end new team for the year 2014 was installed as
follows

Senior Vice President 2014
Dr R L Taneja Vice President 2014
Dr NavJot Dhayia Hony Secretary 2014
Dr K S Arora Finance Secretary 2014
