“Rangeela Gabru and Soni Mutiyar competition” at PCTE

As we move into a more modern & globalised world. The youngsters of today seem to get away from their traditional culture where PCTE took a step forward and organized a Punjabi Cultural Function “Rangeela Gabru and Soni Mutiyar competition” an event to celebrate Teej Festival and bring the students closer to their culture.
The TeejCelebration started with a Consumer Hub, where the students from different courses like BCA, Bio technology, Journalism, BCom & Fashion Designing placed  various food stalls  and games stalls like ice-creams to nutri kulchas to ‘Lucky 7’ & ‘Shoot the balloon’ to name a few.


In Rangeela gabru & Sohni Mutiyaar competition, students participated with full zeal & enthusiasm. The competition consisted 3 Rounds, the first round was of a Ramp Walk with introduction, the 2nd Round had a Talent Hunt and the last was Question and Answer round based on Punjabi culture. The event was a huge success, with highly enthusiastic performances by the students. Adorned in their magnificent attires, the students looked stunning as they gracefully and confidently walked the ramp.
Anmoldeep Singh from MBA 1st year was awarded the Rangeela Gabru title & Drishti from MBA 1st year was awarded Sohni Mutiyaar title, Most Talented Girl title was bagged by Amandeep Kaur from BBA 2nd year and Most Talented Boy title was bagged by Raghav from BBA 3rd year, Best Walk title for Girls was bagged by Khushnaseeb and Best Walk title for Boys was bagged by Lovepreet Singh from B.Pharmacy 3rd year.
Ms. Heena Kalra, Faculty, PCTE said, “The youth is inclined towards westernization and this is one of the steps by PCTE to promote Punjabi Culture amongst youth. More than 100 students participated the pageant and showed their enthusiasm towards Punjabi Culture.
Dr. K.N.S. Kang said, "It is good to see youth connected to the culture and religious roots. He further quoted that it’s important for students to engross themselves in such competitions as it helps to bring out their personality.”
