PAU Employees Union Elections on 10th January, 2014

PAU Employees Forum Held Election Rally
Ludhiana 01 Jan 2014:: (Rector Kathuria//Punjab Screen):
Today A massive Election Rally was organized by the PAU Employees Forum (Mango Group) concerning forth-coming elections to elect the Executive Council of PAU Employees Union (Recognized) for 2014-16 scheduled to be held on 10th January, 2014, Near Horticulture Building. Thousands of employees including lady employees  participated the Rally & raised slogans in favour of team led by Sh. Baldev Singh Walia.
         Mr. Paramjit Singh Gill, Chairman, PAU Employees Forum asked that Executive  led by him & Dr Gular Singh Pandher, General Secretary had got fulfilled number of demands of employees which were kept pending by Mr Harbans Singh Mundi when he was the President of the Union during 2009-2011. He said that he joined the office of the 5.12.2011 and felt that the number of issues which were placed before the Board of Management in its meeting held on 28/11/2011 had been U-turned :
*       Grant of Mobile Allowance w.e.f. 1.10.2011 was withdrawn by the BOM.
*       Scales of technical staff which are getting by them since 1.1.1986 were with-drawn by the BOM and granted the scales of Directorate level.
*       Case of 40-80-120 for C-Grade employees attached with financial liability.
         Resultantly, the employees were deprived from the grant of ACP Increments & promotional increments etc. He said that Union took the matter immediately on or after 5.12.2011 and Item for the grant of Mobile Allowance was approved by the Board of Management during February, 2012. Further, in the meeting of BOM held on 30/3/2012, Issue of grant of scales & number of notifications for the grant of fringe benefits which were issued by the Punjab Government were got accepted by the Board of Management and all the non-teaching employees got financial benefits.
         Mr. Baldev Singh Walia, Contesting Candidate for the rank of  President asked that Union took the matter with the PAU Authorities & Punjab Government to enhance the Grant in Aid on need-based basis because the grant provided by the Punjab Government was too less as compared with the required funds. He said that Punjab Government accepted the proposal of the PAU authorities enhanced the Grant in Aid to Rs 270.00 Crores in 2012-13 and further enhanced to Rs 300.00 Crores in 2013-14.
         He further said that all the pending issues which will be high-lighted in the Mani-festo to be lauched  by the Mango Group would be got fulfilled after winning the Elections.
         Mr. Manmohan Singh, Contesting Candidate for the rank of  General Secretary asked that the Issue for the grant of Conveyance Allowance to the AAO/AO was got approved by the BOM in its meeting held during August, 2013 which was rejected by the BOM on 28/11/2011. He further said that Executive taken-up the matter with the PAU authorities with complete justification & anology.
         Dr Gulzar Singh Pandher, General Secretary, PAU Employees Union   asked that chance for the allotment of 10 Type Houses for which the employees were enjoying the said benefit since number of decades, was rejected by the PAU Authorities when the former Executive was in the office of the PAU Employees Union (Recognized). The Present Executive of the PAU Employees Union (Recognized) submitted the said proposal before the PAU authorities  & got chance for the said allotment & number of Non-teaching employees have been allotted the university accommodation in 10 Type Houses.
Mr. Amrit Pal, Former General Secretary of the Union put the introduction of team which has been proposed by the Mango Group in the coming elections.
         S/Sh. L.B. Yadav, Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Jaipal Singh, Ram Nath, Jarnail Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Hardev Ghaloti, Parveen Kumar Garg, Narinder Singh Sekhon, Harminder Singh, Roshan Lal, Anurendra Kumar Singh (GOLI), Satnam Singh, Gurmel Singh Tung, Harbans Lal Bhatia, Iqbal Singh Lally also addressed the Rally.
