Initiative by Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College
Ludhiana: 13 March 2014: (Punjab Screen Bureau):
The post graduate department of Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana organized an educational visit to Ludhiana Stock Exchange (LSE) on 13th March, 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Rishi Kesh (Head of the Department) to provide practical exposure to the students. In this visit 29 students of M.Com. 1 (2nd Semester) were accompanied by two faculty members Prof. Sandeep Kumar Bansal and Prof. Charnjit Kaur.
During the visit Ms. Pooja Kohli (Company Secretary) on behalf of the LSE delivered a lecture on the concepts of stock market i.e. Capital Market, Online Trading, Commodity trading etc. Whereas, Mr. Sadhu Ram Lakhera of Training and Education cell briefed the students about the history and working of LSE since its inception in 1983 and LSE became the second bourse in India to introduce modified carry forward system after BSE in April 1998.
Sh. Ashwani Jain (President of the College Managing Committee) and Dr. Janmit Singh (Principal of the College) appreciated the efforts of department and encouraged them to arrange such visits in future also.
