Haematology–Oncology and stem cell Transplant

CMC to host Conference on October 5th 2013
Ludhiana, 30th September, 2013:(Shalu Arora and Rector Kathuria): CMC Ludhiana would be hosting the North-West ISHBT (Indian Society of Haematology and Blood Trasfusion) conference for the year 2013 in assembly hall Ludhiana.  The theme chosen is “Closing the gap” focusing on the topic “Importance of team work in maximizing patient care”.
As the outcome of any treatment whether it is chemotherapy, stem cell transplant or counseling, it is the sum total of all efforts put together by the members of the team in providing comfort and joy to the patient and his/her family.
There will be interactive sessions on leukemia, stem cell transplant, laboratory case discussions, communication skills and conflict management between health professionals.  Participation has been confirmed from faculty from all parts of the country including central India, Kerala, Kolkata and Kashmir, including doctors, nurses and corporate professionals who are expert in these areas.  A few patients also would be sharing their experience during this conference on how they feel doctors and nurses should communicate.
M Joseph John, organizing secretary said (My statement):  “Our effort this time is to re-iterate the importance of contributing as individual members of a team and to improve the quality of health care rather than focusing on individual excellence. We have chosen the theme to portray that that doctors and nurses are equal partners and form a vital link in providing quality patient care across all disciplines of medicine.  This conference would be unique for having ‘case discussions’ on all the topic”.
The emblem we have chosen portrays that individual fists will always leave a space which cannot be bridged and only by holding hands can we close this gap.
Doctors and nurses can register for this conference and Punjab medical council has approved 4 credit hours. For more information you may please email cmcbmt@gmail.com or  call up 07837769100, 07837799099.
