According to the Sikhs, during third Udasi, the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak came to this place in 15 Asu 1574 Bikrami with his disciple Bhai Mardana. Mardana felt hungry and they had no food. Guru Nanak sent Mardana to collect food for the langar (the Community Kitchen). Many people donated atta (flour) to make Roti(bread). The one problem was that there was no fire to cook the food.Guru Nanak asked Mardana to lift a stone and he complied and a hot spring appeared. As directed by Guru Nanak, Mardana put the rolled chapatis in the spring to his despair the chapatis sank.Guru Nanak then told him to pray to God saying that if his chapatis float back then he would donate one chapati in His name. 1. A sad news came yesterday on 18 August 2015, that huge landslide driving heavy stones down from a hillock far above historic Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh , fell on Gurudwara residential complex, reportedly killing 7 persons , injuring about 12 persons and causing damage to a part of complex. Rescue work is reportedly in progress and it is feared that more casualties may yet likely come to notice. In this regard, readers may like to know that this Panchkula based Vedic astrology writer had hinted as early as last year on 23rd October , 2014 in predictive article – “Months of substantial concern for India in next year 2015” – that planetary impacts during July to 15th September 2015 for a period of two and half months, in relation to Himalayan belt in northern India , there is a need for precautions. Himachal Pradesh was identified as one of the States for a precaution. While the initial details suggest that the heavy stones came from a long distance above the shrine and therefore it could not have been ordinarily imagined by anyone to have come down, one can say that much in advance hint of tragic happenings plus other tragedy by lightening the other day in Dharampur followed by a major bus accident during the identified spell of time points to accuracy of the prediction.
