Ludhiana witnessed an inspiring and united effort on World Environment Day through the successful Ploggers Drive 2025, organized by the Philanthropy Club in collaboration with the District Administration, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, and CityNeeds.Ludhiana Round table 188

Over 800+ citizens participated enthusiastically, starting from 15 different routes across the city at 5:30 AM, collecting plastic waste while jogging. The collected trash was responsibly deposited with the Municipal Corporation at the central convergence point – Rose Garden – by 7:00 AM.

Flag-off Points Included:
• Sarabha Nagar
• Malhar Road
• Model Town
• Preet Palace
• Railway Station
• Dugri
• Waves Mall
• Mall Road
• Bharat Nagar Chowk
• (Plus 6 more locations across the city, totaling 15 strategic routes)

The event was flagged off  by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain as Chief Guest, who appreciated the overwhelming citizen participation and stressed the importance of community responsibility for environmental sustainability.

Bringing together action, awareness, and art, the morning featured:
🎭 A Nukkad Natak by Marshal Aid, spreading awareness about plastic pollution
💃 A vibrant dance performance by Bindiya Sood
🧘‍♂️ A calming yoga session by Sanjay Tyagi, promoting wellness and mindfulness

To further encourage active participation, prizes were awarded for the most garbage collected.

These groups showcased extraordinary spirit, teamwork, and environmental commitment.

At the heart of this movement was the Philanthropy Club, whose relentless dedication and seamless coordination with civic bodies and volunteers made this massive initiative possible. From route planning and mobilizing citizens to organizing awareness sessions and cultural performances, the Club ensured that the message of “My Ludhiana, My Responsibility” echoed loud and clear.

Together, Ludhiana set an example of what united community action looks like—a cleaner, greener, and more conscious tomorrow.
