Foot ball for Unity launch event at Chandigarh

His Excellency  Governor of Punjab  Shri V P Singh Badnore, Advisor Parimal Rai, HS Anurag Aggarwal, BJP President Sanjay Tandon,Sports Secy Punjab , MLA Bassi Pathana Gurpreet attended Foot ball for Unity launch event 

His Excellency  Governor of Punjab Shri V P Singh Badnore Today Launched Football for Unity UK alliance by Southhall Football Club at Chandigarh , Football for Unity is an unique alliance initiated by 
Lord Diljit Singh Rana, Baron of Melone, Chairman Cordia Group , in India UK"s Premier Southhall Football Club, a premiere football club of UK now in alliance with Las Rozas Football Club  will impart training to coaches and students in different parts of the country, starting from Cordia Edu City, Sanghol,  Punjab. Apart from this the management is also introducing Football for Unity,  an alliance with Las Rozas Football Club, Spain , 
a global initiative to  :
1. Promote unity by developing cultural exchanges between children and young people of different ages.
2. Provide structured football games and training facilities for children of all backgrounds, particularly those from under privileged families.
3.  Promote healthier lifestyles among young people through exercise and team spirit.
His Excellency V P Bandore while launching Football for Unity said ,Its such a great begining that will shape up our young budding footballers ,the best part is World standard training by International  Masters will boost India's chances in Football World and they will definately shine like stars in Football world too.He extended whole heartedly support for upliftment of Football in Punjab and Chandigarh by offering scholarship to deserving talented young footballers . Whereas promoting cultural and sports exchanges will bring lots of harmony in our relationships too .

Founder Trustee of Football for Unity Charanjit Gill  said our aim is to provide world class coaching  to India's budding football aspirants irrespective of their financial status, what we are looking is strong will and dedication of from economically weaker /stronger young footballers so that we may train them to face International football world.
Speaking on the occasion the Vice Chairman, Karan Veer Singh, said this International initiative among Big Boys of football will act as a bridge to channelise the Abundant energy of the youth of Punjab in a positive way which would also give our Youth the International exposure and  put Them at par with International Football players.

Nehal Wadhera of BCM Arya to attend Zonal Cricket Camp

Nehal Wadhera of BCM AryaSenior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, is a part of select group of 24 players from all the states of North India i.e. Punjab, Delhi-Haryana, Himachal, and J&K. He is the only player of Ludhiana from his age group to be part of this elite camp.
These players from their respective States are chosen after their exemplary performance in recently held U-16 National level tournament called Vijay Merchant Trophy. This left-handed batsman is known for his fantastic cricketing techniques.
As per principal Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur, “We are very happy to see that along with the passion for the game, he maintains good academics too.“
Son of prominent education entrepreneur Mr. Kamal Wadhera of TCY group, Nehal has been a very dedicated player since age 8. According to his mother Gurpreet Wadhera, “Nehal has always been highly focused and dedicated towards his game.”
Further, these 24 players will be under strict observation of the best coaches for almost a month. At the end of this camp, top players for the inter-zonal tournament will be taken out.

DAV B.R.S. Nagar Celebrates World Athletics Day

Games are part and parcel of our lives and excellence in a game polishes one’s overall personality. DAV Public School B.R.S. Nagar today organised Intra Section Athletic meet for the Classes V and VI to mark World Athletics Day. All the students of each section of these classes participated in the events like 50m, 100m and Relay Races.
It was a neck to neck competition with the students sweating it out to win laurels. The event was a fine display of physical endurance, planning and team work on the part of participants vying for top honours. There were three prizes for each event.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu congratulated the winners and asked others to put their best foot forward to win top position in future. The students were extremely delighted as they got a break from the routine of studies to spend time out in the open with Weather God blessing them with a nice and windy day.

29th Athletics Meet at CMCH Ends

The two-days 29th Annual athletics meet of Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) concluded with a prize distribution function at its premises on Saturday. Indulging in sports activity is required for overall well being and the building of a healthy body and sound mind, said Director, Dr.A.G.Thomas.
He said that Sports Meet is the best place for inculcating team spirit and participation is more important than winning or losing. He called upon all the academic Institutes to promote sports along with academics.  
In his address, Director, Dr.A.G Thomas said that the Institute is a perfect integration of academics and sports. He said that sports cannot be in isolated from academics and this meet would be a stepping stone for students to excel in sports as well. Dr.A.G.Thomas while gave away prizes to the winners. 
Associate Director Dr.Kim Mammen, Deputy Director, Dr.Vijay Obed, Dr.William Bhatti, Dr.Dhruv Ghosh, Principal Medical College Dr.S.M Bhatti, Principal Dental College Dr.Abi M.Thomas were also present on the ceremony. Dr.Kim Mammen , Associate Director, proposed a vote of thanks.

Athletic meet at Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College

Ludhiana:5th March 2014:(Punjab Screen Bureau):The first one day annual athletic meet at Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College commenced on 05-03-2014 with flag unfurling ceremony by the chief guest Mr.Rajinder Bhandari. The college principal , Dr. Janmit Singh in his welcome note towards the chief guests, Members of college managing committee and other dignitary personality discussed the annual academic and sports achievements of the students during the session. He also emphasized the importance of the sports in the life of a student as sports inculcate in them the quality of discipline and sportsmanship.   Mr. Gurdeep Singh of M.Com Ist took oath on behalf of the participants and colorful balloons were released. Fun events like three- legged race, spoon race, sack race and tug of war complemented the track and field events including races, long jump, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw during one day meet.

A game of musical chairs was also organized for the guests and college staff that added a fun element to the whole event

President of the college managing committee Sh. Ashwani Jain, Principal of the college, Dr.Janmit Singh, the Guest of honour Sh. Bimal Prakash Jain along with other managing committee members distributed the prizes among the winners and congratulated them.
The Guest of honour Shri. Bimal Prakash Jain concluded the meet with the flag lowering ceremony and he declared the meet close. At the end national anthem was sung.

Annual Athletics Meet at DD Jain College for Women

Bhangra became the main attraction

An Annual Athletics Meet was organized at Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana on 22nd February, 2014. Sh. Yogeshwer Jain, Manager, D.D. Jain College of Education was the Chief Guest & Sh. Joginder Jain Manager, Jain Public Sr. Sec. School, consented to be the guest of honour on the occasion.
The Programme commenced with flag hoisting. This was followed by a March-Past, Oath Taking Ceremony and Torch Relay. Sports activities included Tae-Kwondo, 100 Meters Race, Long Jump, Discuss Throw, Karate Show which were highly appreciated by the audience.
            The cultural extravaganza included Bhangra alongside other activities such as Spoon & Potato Race, Tug of War, Three Leg Race, Skit etc.
            A prize distribution ceremony was also held on the occasion in which students excelling in various fields were honoured by the honourable members of the management committee. Samaj Rattan Sh. Hira Lal Jain Chairman, Sh. Kedar Nath Jain President, Sh. Shanti Saroop Jain Sr. Vice President, Sh. Sheetal Kumar Jain Vice President, Sh. Bipin Jain Secretary, Sh. Prem Kumar Jain, other members of the management committee & college principal Dr.(Mrs.) Sarita Bahl congratulated students for their efforts & performance. Sh. Ashok Kumar Jain owner of Seo Bridal Studio was also present on the occasion.
Kajal of BCA-2nd year was declared best athlete. 
Ms. Neelam Nayyar proposed the vote of thanks followed by playing of National Anthem and lowering of the college flag.

However he said that the real happiness will come if jarkhar encourages athletics as a sport and this land can give another Milkha Singh to the country. Eminent Personalities like kuku walia international umpire and Kartar singh Cheema Film Actor were honored.   Mr. Sharanjit Sihgh Dhillon Cabnet Minister grace the occasion.

MTSM Outshined In Weight Lifting And Power Lifting

The Students of Master Tara Singh Memorial College For Women, Ludhiana brought laurels,in Panjab University Inter College Weight Lifting and Power Lifting competitions which were held from 1st Jan to 3rdJan 2014, at university campus. The college team secured fourth and second positions in university in weight lifting. Amandeep Kaur  outshined by hitting gold medal, Navdeep Kaur silver medal and Gagandeep Kaur secured fourth position in weight lifting respectively. The college team procured a “Feather on the cap” by acquiring second position in University in power lifting championship in which Navdeep Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur, Teena Rani, Harpreet Kaur gained Gold, Silver, Bronze medals and fourth position respectively.
                                    College principal Dr.(Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla congratulated Ms. Harpreet Kaur (Asst. Prof. in Physical Education) as well as their mentor Mr. Ashok Kumar and the participants for showcasing their brilliance in the respective field and inspired them to keep up the same spirit in future.

P.A.U. EMPLOYEES SPORTS

Today was fourth day and Tomorrow is the last day
Ludhiana (Gulzar Singh Pandher) P.A.U. Employees Union (Recognized) is holding sports mela since last 10 April 2013 game of Cricket is being played to-day. Matches of Badminton, Table Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Hockey were finalized upto yesterday. These sports are organised under the leaderships of Senior Vice President and Vice President of the Union Sh. Baldev Singh Walia, Lakhminders Singh Sandhu, Gurmail Singh Tung and Manmohan Singh.
Tomorrow i.e. 17 April 2013 shall be the last day of these sports. And tomorrow accept matches of Kabbadi athletics of men and women; races, throws jumps and tug of war shall be performed. Three leg race, lemon spoon race, musical chairs games of women shall be the special attraction.  Tomorrow morning Registrar of P.A.U. Dr. P.K. Khanna and Comptroller P.A.U., Sh. A.C. Rana shall inaugurate the sports  by hosting the flag of sports and shall remain present in the matches of Kabbadi and Athletic Games. 
P.A.U. Employees Union's Ex-General Secretary, Amrit Pal Singh thanks the employees, sports person and officers of the University to spare the time for games. He said games promote work culture. President of the Union S. Paramjit Singh Gill and General Secretary of the union Dr. Gulzar Singh Pandher appealed to the employees to participate in the sports mela. They told that Vice-Chancellor of P.A.U. allowed the staff to participate in the games mela from 10 AM to 12 PM. Organization of the games is being done with sportsman spirit and team spirit. The Executive Members S. Jarnail Singh (Cashier) Parveen Garg, (Joint Cashier) Lal Bahadur Yadav, (Secretary) and Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Kuldeep Singh, Jai Pal, Harmander Singh, Hardev Ghaloti, Mohan Lal, Jaswinder Singh Gholia, Narinder Singh Sekhon are working with full coordination for the performance of the games.

Speed fund Scheme

Pb. Sports Department has decided to conduct trials
Ludhiana:(Rector Kathuria and SK Gogna)Punjab Sports Department has decided to conduct trials for Speed fund Scheme, Sports Academies and different Sports Wings for boys and girls (Schools) for the year 2013-14. The trials for the Speed Fund Scheme shall be conducted at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana on  February 26th 2013 and Registration for the trials will be started at will start at 8 AM. Sharp at District Sports Office, Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana as stated by Kartar Singh Sehamby, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana.  Athletics, Boxing, Badminton, Cycling, Gymnastics (Artistic and Rhythmic), Judo, Lawn Tennis Table Tennis, Weight Lifting and Wrestling  have been included in Speed Fund Scheme.
Players who secured one of the first three positions (1st , 2nd  or 3rd  place) in Sub. Junior/Junior State Championships or Sub. Junior National/Junior National Championships and  their age should be between 13 to 18 years as on 31-12-2013 will be eligible for the trials. The selected stuff will get Rs. 5500/- per month per player for diet, equipments, education, medical and transportation etc. and will be placed at the sports centre equipped with all modern facilities of their own choice in the state. They also will get facility to participate in all National and International competitions and a sum of Rs. 10,000/- yearly for their kit. 
The department has constituted different committees headed by the International Sports Personalities for the smooth and faire conduct of the trials.                     -----
