Step taken for over all development and growth
Clubs falling under the jurisdiction of Lions Clubs international District 321-F have vowed to adopt villages for over all development and growth. That includes eradication of preventable blindness and desisit the youth from drugs. Under the aegis of Region -II the clubs jointly undertook a Jumbo camp at Village Ghungrana on 12th August 2012 where in a combo of activities were performed in the form of Eye Check Up, Diabetese dectection, Tree plantation and a Seminar on Drug Addiction.
427 patients were examined for various eye ailments and shortlisting was made for providing 85 Eye Glasses. Another such camp was planned in the month of September 2012 where in cataract surgeries will be performed.
200 persons were tested for Diabetese during the check up.
475 saplings of different varieties were planted entrusting the responsibility to the local populace for protection of these saplings till these graow in to full blown trees.
In order to educate the youth of the ill effects of drugs, an awareness and effective talk was delivered by Lion Y S Walia MJF motivating the youth to shun the drugs. The audience got convinced with the talk and pledged to pursue the young generation to desist from these habit forming drugs.
the District Governor PMJF Lion Harish Dua was the chief guest on this occasion who intimated the audience that the shortage of water during the ensuing period shall pose a great threat to humanity and advised to reduce the wastage of this rare commodity.
MJF Lion K M Gupta Vice District Governor-I appreciated the efforts of clubs of Region- II which is headed by Lion Avtar Singh Region Chairperson.
The other Dignitaties present were, Lion Yogesh Soni Region Chairperson, Lion I S Khanna District Cabinet Secretary (Publications), Lion K S Arora Zone Chairperson, 54 members from all the Lions Clubs of Region -II, members of Guru Hargobind Sahib Sewa society, Mr. Sukhjinder Singh Mr. Balraj Singh Mr.Harmel Singh and Master Kulwinder Singh.
