An interaction with Aman Sinha- A senior advocate

Fri, Feb 23, 2018 at 3:04 PM
Aman Sinha is BJP’s National Spokesperson also
Ludhiana: 22nd February 2018: (Parminder Kaur//Punjab Screen)::
“Transformational Leadership, from Govt. Programs to Peoples Movement”,  is how Aman Sinha, BJP’s National Spokesperson and senior advocate (Supreme Court Of India) during an interaction at Ludhiana Management Association would like the Narendra Modi Government to be judged. Sinha highlighted the achievements of Modi government in 3.5 years period in terms of ensuring that India remains as one of the fastest growing economy, controlled inflation, reduction of fiscal deficit, high FDI inflows and burgeoning FOREX reserves. He added that these 3.5 years are historic and appreciable.
Sinha also maintained that the government has been able to infuse optimism and hope to the society and this is primarily due to the vision, conviction and courage of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who leads from the front. He also asserted that the nation occupies a strategic position in the global arena, and the nation has also emphatically signalled, that it will neither compromise with terrorism or national sovereignty whatever may be the cost, which is really remarkable. Aman Sinha also shared numbers to validate the efforts put in the areas of rural electrification, ease of doing business and disbursal of loans to entrepreneurs. Sinha also submitted that, this had been achieved only due to the support and enthusiasm of 125 crore Indians who have decided to stand along with the PM as he takes bold initiatives to transform our economy, polity and society.
However Sinha was candid in admitting that there were execution and implementation gaffes during demonetisation and rollout of GST, but perhaps due to the size of our economy and secrecy to be maintained and the gigantic task were not fully factored at the time of decision. He assured that government would deliver on its promise of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas by 2022, and the ensuing election in 2018 would not be a deterrent on the path of bold and transformational decision making.
Members of LMA raised questions about the execution, maintaining that there was a big gap between the policy making and its implementation, and this was resulting in confusion, delays and losses. While the business community supports reforms, they should be calibrated to bring about seamless change,   and not imperil the very existence of business units. Members opined that it is important for the PM and the government to Walk the Talk and also encourage participative leadership.
Prasoon Sharma, South Asia Head , ZTE Soft while interacting with the members, explained how the Government Programs like Start Up India, were facilitating entrepreneurship. He also showcased Nasofilters, a low cost product, developed by IIT graduates for combating Air Pollution in our society.
President LMA Kamal Wadhera while proposing the Vote of Thanks complimented Mr. Aman Sinha on his spirited defense of the Modi Govt. He also hoped that Sinha would share the concerns of citizens and especially those of the business community, as patchy implementation would only lead to confusion, delays, losses and these would deter economic growth, which is the prime agenda of the government.

CBI is totally favouring Jagdish Tytler-H.S. Phoolka

Fri, Feb 9, 2018 at 4:38 PM
Phoolka sent a letter to Prime Minister Modi
To,                                                                                                                          08.02.2018
Shri Narendra Modi
Prime Minister of India
South Block, Raisina Hill,
New Delhi-110011

SUBJECT:  Request to change the CBI team investigating the Jagdish Tytler matter
Sir,
I thank you for raising the issue of 1984 Sikh Genocide in the Parliament. I want to bring to your notice that the team of CBI which is investigating the case against Jagdish Tytler is totally favouring him and is trying to shield him. They have grossly failed to do their job as independent investigators and to collect evidence and secure punishment for the guilty. To the contrary, they collect only that evidence that favours Jagdish Tytler. The CBI has given a clean chit to Tytler three times and all three closure reports submitted by CBI were rejected by the Courts. This is probably the first case in which the CBI has filled three closure reports, one after the other. This attitude of the CBI has still not changed.
During the Court hearing before the Learned ACMM in Karkardooma Courts, the IO investigating the case, called one of the prime witnesses against Tytler a ‘Blackmailer’. The witnesses who have given the evidence against Tytler, their statements are not being recorded before the Magistrate under Section 164 Criminal Procedure Code, whereas the statement of the witnesses who gave statements in favour of Tytler, were duly recorded by CBI. The Court has also asked the CBI that as two witnesses are about 85 years old, why should their statements not be recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C. To this, the officers of CBI took the stand that it is the prerogative of the CBI to record or not to record the statements and argued that the Court does not have the jurisdiction to direct the CBI.
This stand of the CBI openly favouring the accused in a case relating to a mass massacre is not acceptable. Earlier, in 2009, the then DIG of the CBI had recommended that chargesheet under Section 302 IPC for murder should be filed against Jagdish Tytler. The IG of the CBI agreed with him, but unfortunately the Director, under the pressure of the Congress Government, rejected these recommendations and directed that a closure report be filed. The said Closure Report was subsequently rejected by the Hon’ble Court.
Now the Court has directed the CBI to investigate the allegations of money laundering and sending Rs. 5 Crore to Canada by Jagdish Tytler in the Trust controlled by his sister. The said amount of Rs. 5 Crore was seized by a bank in Canada. Subsequently, by filing false documents, the said amount was released. The Court gave a direction to the CBI vide order 04.12.2015 to investigate this angle, however, in the past two years, the CBI has not made any progress in this regard.
The CBI is also intentionally delaying the Lie Detector Test of Abhishek Verma (witness against Tytler), despite Verma’s consent and willingness to undergo the Test, as that is likely to go against Jagdish Tytler.
Recent videos have come out in the open, wherein Tytler is confessing to the killing of 100 Sikhs and money laundering; this coupled with the earlier allegations makes a sufficient ground to arrest Tytler and subject him to custodial interrogation.
If there had been any other accused on the same evidence, the CBI would have arrested him long back. Why is Jagdish Tytler being given preferential treatment?
I earnestly request you to direct the Director of the CBI to immediately change the team investigating the case of Jagdish Tytler and to take prompt action in the case. The custodial interrogation of Jagdish Tytler is also absolutely necessary in these circumstances.
Yours Sincerely,
H.S. Phoolka
Senior Advocate

Don't delay surgery-if required-Says Dr. Dewan

[17:23, 2/3/2018]
CME held at Dewan hospital Ludhiana
Ludhiana: 3rd February 2018: (Punjab Screen Bureau)::
A CME was held at Dewan Hospital and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Center, Ludhiana on the topic of "Complications caused by delay in the surgery of Gall Stone Disease". Dr Narotam Dewan, consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Dewan Hospital and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Center said.

1. Surgery is not necessary if you come to know incidently that you are suffering from gallstones in your gallbladder.

2. When these stones start causing any problem the surgery becomes necessary. These problems may be mild pain, indigestion, vomiting, heaviness, fever or excessive gas formation due to gallstone disease. These problems can be considered as an alarm that now is the time to get gallstones out by submitting yourself to surgery.

3. Those patients who delay surgery when it is indicated can fall in the trap of some very serious and life-threatening disease.

4. One of the most dangerous complications of gall stones is "Cholangitis". This is the infection of and pus formation in the bile ducts. Due to obstruction by a gallstone the bacteria start growing in the bile duct and enter blood through veins of liver. The bacteria and their toxins spread throughout the body. The patient starts having very high fever with rigors and chills, jaundice, pain in abdomen and may become semiconcious. As the disease advances the kidnies fail and blood pressuer falls. The toxins of the bacteria push the person into septic shock and multiple organ failuer which may lead to death. Few decades back the prognosis of this disease was grim and it use to lead to 100% fatality. Even now a days if the disease is fulminating and paient has comorbidities the death rate inspite of best treatment is about 7%. Patient needs high antibiotics, lots of IV fluids and supportive care.

5. Secondly the patient who delay the treatment of gall stones can fall victim to dreaded disease named "Gall Stone Pancreatitis". A small stone slipping from gall bladder and passing to the intestine through bile ducts pushes bile in to the ducts of pancreas. This entering of bile in the pancreas activates highly potent digestive enzymes of pancreas within the pancreas and start autodigestion of pancreas. As the ducts and cells of pancreas get damaged more digestive enymes get leaked and some portion of pancreas may get inflamed or dead. At time bacteria invade this portion of pancreas leading to pus formation. This pus of pancrease is not easy to remove and multiple surgeries may be requiered with prolonged hosptialization over many months in intesive care units. At other timew these pancreatic enzymes enter the blood and damage lungs causing blockage in the exchange of oxygen and carbondiaoxide ( Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrom ) or may damage kidneys. These can also lead to clotting of blood with in the blood vessels. At times the pancreas start bleeding or there can be bleeding from other vessels digested by the digestive enzymes. Patient comes with very sever pain in the tummy and vomitting. The abdomen is found hard as a wooden board. The patient requires urgent fluids and supportive treatment. If the pancreatitis is sever the patient may go into shock and multiple organ failuer and die. There is about 4.5% mortality rate inspite of aggressive treatment in such cases.

6. Obstructive jaundice is another complication which is due to slipping of a gallbladder stone into bile ducts and leading to blockage. The patient devolopes jaundice, eyes and skin becomes yellow. The bile from liver enters the blood and is passed in urine so urine to becomes yellow. Since the bile no more goes to the intestine so the stools loose their colour and become light coloured. The patient has lot of itching of skin. Deficiency of Vit K developes and leads to decrease in clotting of blood.

7. Due to inflamation of gall bladder, the adjoining organs like intestine get stuck to the gall bladder and it forms a mass abdomen. If the mass is hard, it is dangerous to operate and the patient is admitted for antibiotics and IV fluids. Patient has to be on treatment for about two monts before the patient can be taken up for surgery.

8. A single large stone staying in the gall bladder is known to lead to the formation of cancer in the gall bladder. Due to proximity of gall bladder to the liver, this cancer invades liver at an early stage and so pushes the cancer to an advanced stager. This is potantially fatal cancer.

9. The delay is gall stone surgery often leads to formation of pus in the gallbladder. This pus can rupture in the abdomen. The gall bladder may rot and becomes gangreeous. Thses are serious complications increasing the risk of the disease and making the treatment and surgery difficult.

The discussion was heald among the present doctors and public and it was concluded that the patients need to be educated about when they can wait and when they must immidiatly submit themselves to the surgical treatmetn of gall stone disease to avoid life threatning, painfull, distressing and costly complications.

Dt. Neeta Dewan, Diet and Nutrition consultant welcomed the audience and introduced Dr Narotam Dewan.

World Cancer Day Celebrated by Deep Hospital Ludhiana

[17:40, 2/3/2018]
Awareness Programe Organised by Dr. Amit Dhiman
Ludhiana: 3rd February, 2018: (Shalu Arora//Punjab Screen)::
Cancer Awareness Programe was organised by Deep Hospital, Ludhiana. More than 70 patients and their relatives attended the programme. Separate rounds of Interaction were held and a lot of queries regarding Cancer were resolved. The whole session was followed by question-answer round on various scenarios of daily life.
Programe was held under the supervision of Dr. Amit Dhiman Director & Senior consultant, Cancer and Hematology services, Bone Marrow transplant specialist
Giving information regarding Cancer, Dr.Amit said What is Cancer? In simple terms, cancer is an abnormal growth of body cells. Each one of us is born with a potential for cancer. One cannot "Catch" it as one would an infection or a cold. When the programming of a cell or a group of cells is affected, growth may become uncontrolled. Some of the factors that can alter the code are chronic irritation, tobacco, smoke and dust, radioactive substances, age, sex, race and heredity. While one cannot control many of these factors , we need to be aware of the ones we can control of. Prevention is definitely better than treatment of cancer.
What Causes Cancer?
Consumption of tobacco especially smoking, which is 1 out of 4 causes of cancer ,workplace chemicals like asbestos , old age people are more prone to cancer, Lifestyle ,diet and some specific type of virus and radiation may also cause cancer . Some cancers are also genetic in nature.
What are the signs of Cancer?
A Persistent Sore especially if it is in the mouth, on the lip or on tongue.
Lumps or Masses which appear where none were present previously should arouse suspicion of cancer.
Unexplained or abnormal bleeding from any body opening.
Persistent indigestion or change in bowel habits, while usually due to other causes, are often caused in the intestinal tract and should be reported.
Persistent hoarseness or cough of abnormal duration deserves a careful examination by your doctor.
Unexplained loss of weight may be due to many things but may also be due to hidden cancer.
How important is screening and which all cancers can be screened .
Screening means looking for early signs of a particular disease in healthy people who do not have any symptoms. Screening for cancer aims to find cancers as early as possible - when the chance of cure is highest. There are established Screening tests for breast cancer, cervical cancer and bowel cancer.
There are also tests to detect prostate Cancer and Ovarian Cancer.
How can cancer be prevented?
Cancers that are closely linked to certain behaviors are the easiest to prevent. For example, choosing not to smoke tobacco or drink alcohol significantly lower the risk of several types of cancer -most notably lung, throat, mouth, and liver cancer. Even if you are a current tobacco user, quitting can still greatly reduce your chances of getting cancer.
How is cancer treated?
Cancer treatment depends on the type of cancer, the stage of the cancer (how much it has spread), age, health status, and additional personal characteristics. There is no single treatment for cancer, and patients often receive a combination of therapies and palliative care. Treatments usually fall into one of the following categories: surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy, or gene therapy
