10th Blood  Donation Camp organized at Ludhiana

Akhil Bhartiya Sri Sanghmeshwar Sewa Dal, Ludhiana branch organized a ‘Blood donation camp’ on the occasion of 75nd   birth anniversary of Anant Shri Vibhushit Mahant Ganga Puri Ji Maharaj, Sri Sanghmeshwar Mahadev Mandir, Arunai (Pehowa, Haryana) at Ludhiana today on 2th August 2015 revealed  Dr. Harish Verma, Secretary , Sri Sanghmeshwar Sewa Dal L:udhiana, Branch. Sh. Bharat Bhushan Aashu, M.L.A. Ludhiana West was the Chief Guest inaugurated the Blood Donation camp and said that this is an excellent gesture and congratulated the organizers for this good cause and emphasized that there is an urgent need of more such camps in the city, Sh. Gurpeet Gogi, Councillor, Ward No. 53  presided over the function. Two teams from DMC& H and RED cross Society, Ludhiana collected the blood from voluntary donors. The donation camp was supervised by a team of doctors from DMC&H , Ludhiana under the leadership of Dr. Ramneek Locham  and Dr G P Mangla from Red cross This is tenth time that a blood donation camp was organized by the Ludhiana branch  of Sri Sanghmeshwar Sewa Dal. The camp started with the seeking of blessings from Almighty. In a novel gesture, members of Dal, other people and even local leaders came forward and donated the blood voluntarily and a total of 75  units of blood were donated. Mr. D. K. Puri, president,  Ludhiana branch, Sri Sanghmeshwar Sewa Dal informed that the Dal is  organizing such camps at regular interval along with other social welfare activities. 
Dr. Harish Verma, Secretary , Sri Sanghmeshwar Sewa Dal, said that Punjab is far behind in blood donation, where as Gujrat  State is at number one in blood donation in whole of the country by contributing 11% of blood units. Further, Dr. Verma told that the Dal has already solemnized two times the mass marriages function in which 25 girls were married, has arranged nine    blood donation camps and loaded trucks containing food items were sent  to earth quack victims of Gujrat, Uttranchal and J. K. states . Sh. Rajinder Mohan Tandon, treasurer of the Dal said that now we are also motivating the people for   pledging to donate eyes. Mr. Puri  specially thanked S. Mohinder Singh, President, Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Gobind Nagar, for their whole hearted support for organizing this camp. The camp was attended by dignitaries of Sanghmeshwar sewa dal, arunai, (Pehowa) and members of  Khanna & Gobindgarh  branches. The camp ended with the pledge by dal members to organize such camps more frequently especially for Thalassemia affected children and for cause of society. Dal members  highlighted the benefits of blood donation and persuaded people for voluntary donations for the cause of society and to relieve sufferings of people.
