World Heart day on the theme was observed at CMCH Ldh.

‘World Heart Day 2021’ was observed in Medicine OPD, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana. The programme was started with welcome of gathering followed by devotional song, Bible reading and Prayer. Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana appreciated the students & faculty of College of Nursing for their hard work & encouraged the patients & their relatives to lead a peaceful life as stress is one of the main risk factor for Heart diseases. Dr. Reena Jairus, Professor & Principal, College of Nursing in her address, appreciated the hard work of students & faculty. She said that we need to live healthy life, avoid over use of mobile & encourage the students to have proper rest & sleep as it is very important to keep the Heart Healthy. Mrs. Ritu P. Naihar, Associate Professor & HOD – Medical Surgical Nursing department of College of Nursing unfolded the theme she said that Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) is the world’s number one killer disease. Because of Covid-19 people are avoiding to visit hospitals even if they are diagnosed with heart disease or having manifestations of CVD, so we need to use the power of digital health for prevention and management of CVD. Tele-health and Tele-medicine plays an important role to keep the people healthy. We have to use digital tools for prevention diagnosis and care of heart related conditions.
M.Sc. Nursing 1st & 2nd Year – Medical Surgical Nursing Group and B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Year students provided education to the patients and their relatives through the poster exhibition and role play, which were well appreciated. Patients & their relatives, staff and employees found the program very interesting, educative & appreciated the hard work put in by the teachers along with students. “Use Heart to Connect with Your Heart”
