Literary organization Kavita Katha Karvaan (Regd) (KKK) celebrated International Mother Language Day at the Dr Mohinder Singh Randhawa Art Gallery   of the local Punjabi Bhawan and organized an International Kavi Darbar

On this occasion a Ru-B-Ru with Meeta Khanna, a singer, writer and anchor from Canada was held. She motivated the young writers to read good literature and try to pen down their creative expressions.

Meeta Khanna was appointed as the Vice President of Kavita Katha Karvaan (Regd)’s Canadian Chapter for the Session 2022-23 while Dr Ravinder Singh Chandi was appointed as Secretary of Kavita Katha Karvaan (Regd) for the Session 2022-23. 

In recognition of their laudable contributions for the promotion of Punjabi language, culture and values on the foreign lands, the international writers Gursahib Teji (from Italy), Daljeet Singh and Satbir Singh, both from Canada, were honoured on the occasion with Citations and Robes of Honour by the KKK President Jaspreet Kaur Falak.  

Various literary personalities were inducted into the Executive of KKK that included Dr Atinder Kaur Sandhu (as Coordinator) , Aman Phallar (as Advisor),  Dr  Anureet Kaur Chandi  (as Advisor),   Gurvinder Kaur (as Co-convener) and Bhai Dalip Singh Bikkar  (as Co-Convener).  

The participating poets and the Members of Creative Writers Group of KKK  marked their presence by reciting their poems dedicated to Mother Tongue.

Earlier, the KKK President and Chief Organizer of the Event, Dr Jaspreet Kaur 'Falak' welcomed the participants  and introduced the prominent personalities who came to take part in the programme from far and wide.  She added  that the KKK provides platform to the new writers and  poets for their creative expression through participation in kavi darbars and literary events.

The stage was aptly managed by poet Dharminder Shahid Khanna. Towards the end Dr Ravinder Singh Chandi proposed his vote of thanks to one and all for making the event a success.
