Kirti Kisan Sabha, Punjab Ludhiana holds its meeting

Ludhiana district committee of Kirti Kisan Sabha
Punjab met here under the president ship of Azad Singh Khatra, a veteran Kisan
leader.
Com. Lakhwinder Singh Buani, General Secretary Kirti Kisan
Sabha Punjab placed the agenda and the history of the organization in the
state. He also mentioned the struggles launched by the organization for the
cause of kisan movement.
Com. Kuldip Singh member of central co-ordination Committee
of All India Kisan Federation reported on the decisions of the meetings of
central co-ordination held in Warangal (Andhra Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan) and
Patna (Bihar). He also disclosed that All India Conference of A I K F is being
organized on March 28, 29 and 30, 2014 at Kisan Bhavan Chandigarh.
The meeting passed resolutions demanding adequate MSP on
wheat as it felt that price announced is too low to cover even the costs
incurred by the farmers. The meeting also demanded compensation for the damages
on the Paddy for the loss suffered by them due to untimely rain and hailstorm.
The meeting in a special resolution demanded subsidy on
diesel to the farmers and regular power supply of ten hours daily.
The meeting expressed its serious concern over the menace of
stray cattle in Pujab. Stray cattle are causing harm to the crops. The meeting
demanded that the government should make proper arrangements in this regard.
The meeting also opposed the property tax imposed on the common man. Among
those present were Jang Singh, Sukhdev Singh, President and Secretary of
district Kirti Kisan Sabha respectively Amanjit Singh Chankoyan, Amarjit Singh
Faizgarh, Darshan Singh and Surjit Singh Malaud and others
