Ronki Ram and Professor Rajeev Lochan discussed the education

Students
of MTSM participated with full fervor and zeal in an extension lecture organized
by college History Department.
Prof.
Ronki Ram (Syndicate member, Dean, Faculty of Arts, P.U Chd) graced the
occasion as chief guest. He enunciated on the current state of Punjabi language
and how it intervenes our history and society. He also enlightened the students
about the ways history plays an indispensable role in moulding our present and
future. He further underlined the fact that "one cannot be successful in
life if history is lagged behind."
Playing
his part as a resource person, Professor Rajeev Lochan (Dept of History, P.U,
Chd) made the session more knowledgeable by bringing in limelight the topic of
'Valor without Violence: The untalked legacy of Punjab'. Prof. Lochan talked
about enriching history of Punjab, known for freedom fighter Shahid Bhagat
Singh. He showcased some of the munificent unknown facts of our heritage, which
are seldom talked about yet they carry implications. He opined that “The true
strength of the state and the nation lie in practicing Secularism. We must
value it.”
College
principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Praveen Kaur Chawla (Syndicate member, P.U, Chd)
felicitated Prof. Lochan and Prof. Ronki Ram with token of gratitude and
thanked them for sparing their precious time and for sharing their store house of
knowledge with students.
Madam
Principal addressed the students by laying stress on the fact that strong
determination is the key to success and one can attain greater heights if one
possesses strong will. She also talked about the importance of such extension
lectures.
