MTSM: Sakshi bagged 8th position in university

First in college by securing 68% M.A-English 1st sem
Ludhiana: 19th May 2017: (Punjab Screen Bureau)::

Students of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for women were on the cloud nine as they clinched two from the top ten University positions in M.A-English 1st sem. Examination conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Sakshi bagged 8th position in university and first in college by securing 68% whereas Riju Bala stood 9th in University and 2nd in college with 67.75%. Poonam secured 3rd position in college with 67% marks.

         College Principal Dr.Mrs.Kirandeep Kaur applauded the efforts of the faculty members and the students by saying that the students have added another feather to the cap by securing University Positions. College President S. Swaran Singh Ji and Secretary S. Kanwalinder Singh Ji congratulated the students who worked hard to achieve their goals and faculty members for their proper guidance and teaching. They also gave the students their warm and best wishes for a bright future.

MTSM bade a warm adieu to Mrs. Harminder Kaur

A Farewell ceremony was organized at Master Tara Singh Memorial college for Women, Ludhiana to bid adieu to the Head of Post Graduate Music Department (Vocal), Mrs. Harminder Kaur. Mrs. Harminder Kaur served the institute for a long span of 36 years. The Ceremony initiated with engraving messages of kindness, affection and gratitude which showered in the form of speeches delivered by high dignitaries of the College.
On this occasion, the College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kirandeep Kaur brought the great achievements and her devotional working sprit to the limelight. She also gave her the credit for treasuring the Departmental achievements by calling her a precious gem of the Department of Music. She also added that her biding adieu to the college is a matter of great loss not only for the department but for the whole Institute.
The College president S. Swarn Singh Ji and Secretary S. Kanwalinder Singh Ji admired her devotional long service towards the temple of learning and talked about her sincere performance. Besides them, all other members of the College Managing Committee were also present and wished her luck and prosperity in all walks of her life.

MTSM College for Women outshined in the MA Hindi

Rajni Jain:77.5%,  Madhu Bala 72.75% and Priya: 72%

The students of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women outshined in the university results of Masters in Hindi III semester declared by P.U Chd. Rajni Jain secured the first position in the college with 77.5% marks. Madhu Bala and Priya stood second and third with 72.75% and 72% marks respectively.
Following on the footsteps of their seniors, students of M.A. Hindi I semester also showed their caliber in university exams. Sakshi Khanna grabbed first position with 72% marks. Neha Gupta and Manpreet Kaur stood second and third in college with 70.25% and 62.35% marks respectively.
College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla (Syndicate Member, P.U, Chd) applauded the students for their painstaking labor and wished them good luck for their future.

Two-days cultural exchange started at MTSM college

Expression of music in the form of euphonic melodies suffused the atmosphere of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, a two-days cultural exchange program with Baroda University which begun here at the campus today.
Glitterati, Prof. Neera Grover (Department of Music Vocal, Panjab University, Chd) graced the occasion as chief guest. She appreciated the efforts of the college to organize this Cultural Exchange Program with full enthusiasm.
Bharat I Mahant (Asstt. Prof) mesmerized the audience by showing his skill at violin classic. Kedar Mukadam witnessed the program and all swayed to his classical vocal melodies. Along with them Mayur Vaghela and Dhrupansinh Gohil gave the glimpse of their excellent prowess and whole ambience was full of gaiety and mirth. 
Dr. (Mrs.) Meera Madan  and Mr. Vidya Sagar Rampal (TV, Radio artist and social worker) were welcomed as special guests on the musical occasion. The whole event was organized under the kind and diligent guidance of Mrs. Harminder Kaur, Head (Department of Music) MTSM.
College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla (Syndicate member, P.U, Chd) honored the artists. Appreciating the event, she said such kind of programmes give us the opportunity to understand the varied music tradition of India. S. Kanwalinder Singh (Secretary, College Managing Committee) and other members of college managing committee were also present on the occasion.

Special Lecture organized at MTSM college for women

Prof. Ronki Ram and Professor Rajeev Lochan discussed the education

Students of MTSM participated with full fervor and zeal in an extension lecture organized by college History Department.
Prof. Ronki Ram (Syndicate member, Dean, Faculty of Arts, P.U Chd) graced the occasion as chief guest. He enunciated on the current state of Punjabi language and how it intervenes our history and society. He also enlightened the students about the ways history plays an indispensable role in moulding our present and future. He further underlined the fact that "one cannot be successful in life if history is lagged behind."
Playing his part as a resource person, Professor Rajeev Lochan (Dept of History, P.U, Chd) made the session more knowledgeable by bringing in limelight the topic of 'Valor without Violence: The untalked legacy of Punjab'. Prof. Lochan talked about enriching history of Punjab, known for freedom fighter Shahid Bhagat Singh. He showcased some of the munificent unknown facts of our heritage, which are seldom talked about yet they carry implications. He opined that “The true strength of the state and the nation lie in practicing Secularism. We must value it.”
College principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Praveen Kaur Chawla (Syndicate member, P.U, Chd) felicitated Prof. Lochan and Prof. Ronki Ram with token of gratitude and thanked them for sparing their precious time and for sharing their store house of knowledge with students.
Madam Principal addressed the students by laying stress on the fact that strong determination is the key to success and one can attain greater heights if one possesses strong will. She also talked about the importance of such extension lectures.

BCOM 1st Year: Girls again proved their capability

Students of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana brought laurels to college by showing excellent performance in final examination of BCOM 1st   Year held in April 2014, conducted by Panjab University Chandigarh.  Manpreet Kaur stood first in college with 441 marks (80. 18%). Kirti    secured second position with 438 marks (79.64%), and   Vandana  got third position in college with 437 marks (79.46%).  President S. Swaran Singh and   Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla congratulated the students who worked hard to achieve their goals   and faculty members for their excellent guidance and teaching.

Ludhiana:The students of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women brought laurels to the college in the result of B.Com.-1st year. Navneet Kaur bagged 1st position in college by securing 77.82% marks,  Veerawali  got 2nd position in the college by securing 74.91% marks &  Ashu bagged 3rd position in college by securing 73.63% marks. The pass percentage of the college is 97.40%.  
Samaj Rattan Shri Hira Lal Jain, Chairman of the College Managing Committee,  Sh. Kedar Nath Jain, President, Sh. Bipin Jain,  Secretary, Sh. Surinder Kumar Jain, Manager, Senior Vice President Sh. Sandeep Kaur Riat: “Feministic Perspective on Entrepreneurship”

An interactive session on “Feministic Perspective on Entrepreneurship” was held at the MTSM College, Ludhiana for the students of Master in Business Administration Commerce & Information Technology (MBACIT) with LMA Young Innovative Entrepreneur  award winner Ms. Sandeep Riat , M.D Akal Spring Pvt Ltd. , Ludhiana  on Tuesday,  22 April 2014   .Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sandeep (Minnie) Riat guided the students regarding the mantra of  becoming a successful entrepreneur. She  mentioned her journey of becoming an  entrepreneur and contributions she made towards  the  overall growth of her enterprise. During her lecture she highlighted that  creator community is unique. They live with conviction,  passion  & optimism .While personally interacting with the students  she took a note of their enquiries too. Principal  Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla said that with the new generation stepping into the creative economy, building a global platform that makes  the process of  learning  imperative and absolutely necessary. At the end she proposed a vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to  the resource person for  sharing her thoughts with the students and congratulated the staff for  making the event a success.

Students of Master in Fashion Design and Management 3rd semester of MTSM College for Women have Exhibited Excellent Performance in Dec .2013 examination conducted by Panjab University Chandigarh. It is a matter of Proud Privilege for the college that all the students got 1st division. Harmandeep kaur stood first in University by securing 83.16% marks .  Rajni Bala and Harminder Kaur both secured second position with79% marks. Mamta got Third position in University with 78% marks. Principal Dr. (Mrs)Parveen Kaur Chawla heartily congratulated the students and faculty for their sincere efforts and wished the students good luck in the future. It is worth mentioning that this innovative masters  program( sponsored by UGC )is running successfully and is scaling new heights day by day.

Students of  Master in Business Administration  Commerce & Information Technology (MBACIT)-1st  Sem. of  MTSM College for Women have exhibited  excellent performance   in Dec 2013  examination conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. This professional course has always brought laurels to the college with excellent results.  The  overall result was 100%. Ridhika Jain stood first in University by scoring 77.5%  marks. Lakhwinder Kaur and Deepika Sharma  secured second and third position in University with 74.83 % &74.17 %  marks  respectively. Principal Dr.(Mrs) Parveen Kaur Chawla heartily congratulated the students and wished them success in the future too.  She  also expressed   appreciation to the staff  for their efforts.

MTSM College Hostel Night: Filled with Fun and Frolic

Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana organized an event filled with fun and frolic especially for its hostelers. The cultural programme was organized under their alma mater's guidance Ms. Harpreet Kaur.
College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla graced the occassion with her presence as chief guest. An array of cultural events was presented by the hostelers in the form of various folk dances and skit. The gala event was celebrated in fervor with 'Beauty Contest' being its highlight. Yawinder kaur was crowned with Ms. Hosteler, Jaspreet Kaur & Swati were adjudged as I and II runner up.
College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla crowned the winners, congratulating them, she suggested students to remain optimistic in all their approaches so that they turn out to be role models not only for their family and society but also for their country.

MTSM College: Juniors gave a fond send off to their seniors

It was a special day for the Department of Commerce and Department of Computer of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana as the juniors gave a fond send off to their seniors. The program got off to a start with a beautiful solo dance performance. Thareafter, there was a spate of dance, music and modeling. College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla, was the chief guest of the occasion. S. Swaran Singh (President, College Managing Committee) and S. Kanwalinder Singh (Secretary, College Managing Committee) graced the occasion.
The much awaited event was the modeling in which the final year students were dressed in their best attire walked up the ramp to the beats of music. It was applauded by all. Miss Sarabjeet Kaur & Rajinder Kaur were crowned as Miss Farewell Commerce & Miss Farewell I.T 2014, whereas Miss Arshdeep Kaur and Nupur were adjudged as Ist and IInd runner up. The special titles of Miss Fashionista, Miss Catwalk, Miss Ethnic Beauty and Enchanting Smile were rendered to Miss Tanveen, Miss Sonia, Miss Ruchi and Miss Ishleen Kaur.
College Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla congratulated the winners and wished them good luck. She encouraged the students to burn their midnight oil andleave no stone unturned to come out in flying colors in their future life. S. Swarn Singh Ji, Presidentt (College Managing Committee), wished the students good luck. He exhorted them to develop a positive attitude towards life and prove an asset to their families, society and the country.

To acquire the almighty’s benedictions for the students so that they can glisten with flying colors in the anticipated annual examination to be held in April, 2014. For this motive, God’s name was exalted at MASTER  TARA SINGH  MEMORIAL  COLLEGE FOR WOMEN. After bhog of “sehaj path” the students recited kirtan , providing spiritual rapture . All were completely engrossed in invoking Almighty for their success.
            College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla while yearning the tour de forcefor the students, advised them to be industrious.    S. Swarn Singh Ji (president, College Managing Committee )  too aspired the students all success . S. Kawalinder Singh Thekedaar ( Joint Secretary ) and S. Annual Prize Distribution Function at MTSM College

Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women gave yet another reason to its students to cheer-up as the most awaited Annual Prize Distribution Function was just celebrated with great favour. S.Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria (Mayor Municipal Corporation,Ludhiana) was the chief Guest of the occasion. Dr.Satish Kumar Verma, former Head, Dept.Of Sports Science Punjabi University Patiala was the guest of honor whereas Dr. D.P. Bhatnagar, former Head Dept. of Human  Biology,Punjabi University Patiala was the special guest of the occasion. College principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla along with the members of the college managing committee gave a floral welcome to the worthy guests.
The function initiated with the recitation of the shabad "Deh Shiva Var Mohe Ehe". As many as 400 students were awarded for their achievements in the fields of academics, cultural as well as sports. Jasmeen Akhtar, Megha Jain, Karishma Sharma and Gurpreet Kaur were awarded appreciation awards for their all-round performance whereas 12 students got Merit Certificate for their excellent achievements in various fields.The students sat riveted to get prizes from this high dignitary . While addressing the students, honorable guest congratulated them and inspired them to walk through the path of life with full courage, devotion and dedication. He further appariciated the hard toil of madam principal and all the staff members for achieving such brilliant results and position in university.
The whole ambience showered the fragrance of success and gaiety  with musical items. S. Swaran Singh, president, college managing committee presented a note of thanks to the worthy guests for sparing their precious time. While congratulating the students, he inspired them to attain great heights with courage, honesty and hard work and ofcourse with faith on the almighty.
Madam principal congratulated the students for their brilliant performances and also lauded the efforts of the teachers for bringing such outstanding results. She motivated all the winners to keep up the same spirit in future too and advised other students to come forward and enter the competition. She further iterated that "hardwork is the key to success and without hard work and dedication one can't reach zenith of glory". The function ended on festive note for prize winners and prizes in hands and faces illuminated with smiles of success.

MTSM college: Farewell on Women Day

Saturday was a special day for the Department of Arts of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana when the juniors bade farewell to their seniors. The students presented a cultural program comprising songs, dances and a rich cultural extravaganza. The much awaited event was the modeling in which the final year students were dressed in their best attire walked up the ramp to the beats of music.
In addition to this Department of Fashion Designing (MFDM and FD diploma) organized a competition displaying the attires designed and stitched by the students themselves. The students demonstrated their prowess at the dress designing in western, Indian and indo-western styles. College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla, was the chief guest of the occasion . S. Swaran Singh (President, College Managing Committee) and S. Kanwalinder Singh(Secretary ,College Managing Committee) graced the occasion.
Ms. Sweety Chilani was crowned as Miss Farewell, 2014, whereas Ms. Twinkle and Ms. Sonia were adjudged as Ist and IInd runner up. The special titles of Crowning Glory and Beautiful Smile were rendered to Ms. Neetu  and Ms. Neha.

The students of Fashion Designing Department who participated in modeling were also encouraged by giving out special titles. Ms. Neha was awarded with the title of Best Designer Outfit Ist and the award for the Best Designer Outfit 2nd was won by Ms. Manpreet. Ms. Shivani & Ms. Deepti was felicitated with the Best Designer Outfit 3rd and in the category unique design Ms. Ravneet Kaur was awarded. Special title star of the show was given to Ms. Yashmeet Kaur Bansal.

College Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts of staff and students. She further gave blessings to the outgoing students and wished them good luck and success in times to come, wherever they go. S. Swarn Singh Ji, Presidentt (College Managing Committee), wished the students good luck and inspired them never to lose hope and courage in their lives.

Basant Celebrations at MTSM girls college Ldh

Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana celebrated ‘Festival of Basant’ with full vigor and zeal. The Function organized by Music and Dance department of college was embarked by offering hymns to Goddess Saraswati. The program was proceeded by lighting the lamp by college Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla and by Mrs. Harminder kaur(HOD Music Department).
                  The Students put forth their notions in multifarious ways. The Artistic prowess of the students was quite palpable in all the spheres, be it dancing, singing, poetry recitation or debate. Mrs. Harminder Kaur assigned a cordial felicitate to college Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla.  The program winded with an indelible mark on the pupils.

Judo Competition: A Pat on the back of MTSM Girls

The judokas of Master Tara Singh Memorial College, Ludhiana brought glory to the college by earning bronze medal in Panjab University Inter College Judo Competition, held at Panjab University campus. Suman and Sukhdeep Kaur won bronze medal in 44kg and 70 kg category of Judo Championship.
In international Martial Arts Championship held at Mumbai Damandeep Kaur won two gold and one bronze medal.
Their dedicated mentors Ms. Harpreet Kaur and Mr. Varinder Singh were congratulated for the same. College principal Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla congratulated Ms. Harpreet Kaur (Asst. Prof in Phy. Edu) and the participants for showcasing their brilliance in the sphere of sports and inspired them to keep up the same spirit in future.

The ‘Aagman Purab’ commemorated at MTSM college

The ‘Aagman Purab’ of 10th Sikh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was commemorated with great devotion and fervor at Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana on 18th January, 2014. The religious ceremony was culminated with great zeal and enthusiasm by college managing committee, principal and students. On this auspicious occasion, the students of Music Department recited soulful hymns from Gurubani which took the whole sangat to another level of divinity. College students; Amandeep Kaur, Megha Jain, Anju and Amanjot Kaur shared their views and opinion focusing on the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the form of speech and poetical recitation.
On the pious occasion Jaspreet Kaur was honored for securing 3rd position in moral science National level examination, which was conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana.
S. Narinder Pal Singh (Supdt. Engineer) from electricity board graced the occasion with his presence and offered tribute to Guruji.
Madam Principal (Dr.) (Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla highlighting the importance of moral and spiritual teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, she also counseled the students to follow/practice them in their daily lives.
S. Swaran Singh (President, College Managing Committee) congratulated everyone for celebrating the advent of Guru. He also persuaded students to remain attached to their religion.
S. Kanwalinder Singh, S.Amreek Singh, staff members and students were also present. ‘Guru Ka Langar’ was served and relished by one and all at the culmination of the celebrations.

MTSM Outshined In Weight Lifting And Power Lifting

The Students of Master Tara Singh Memorial College For Women, Ludhiana brought laurels,in Panjab University Inter College Weight Lifting and Power Lifting competitions which were held from 1st Jan to 3rdJan 2014, at university campus. The college team secured fourth and second positions in university in weight lifting. Amandeep Kaur  outshined by hitting gold medal, Navdeep Kaur silver medal and Gagandeep Kaur secured fourth position in weight lifting respectively. The college team procured a “Feather on the cap” by acquiring second position in University in power lifting championship in which Navdeep Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur, Teena Rani, Harpreet Kaur gained Gold, Silver, Bronze medals and fourth position respectively.
                                    College principal Dr.(Mrs.) Parveen Kaur Chawla congratulated Ms. Harpreet Kaur (Asst. Prof. in Physical Education) as well as their mentor Mr. Ashok Kumar and the participants for showcasing their brilliance in the respective field and inspired them to keep up the same spirit in future.
