Prof Sethi stressed on the strict blood pressure control

CMC conducts 34th Dr L.H. Lobo Memorial Oration, Ldh

In memory of Professor Dr L. H. Lobo, the first Indian Principal of CMC Ludhiana the Dr L H Lobo Memorial Trust conducts an annual Oration at CMC Hospital, Ludhiana.  This year Padma Shree Prof. Kamal K. Sethi, Past President of Cardiological Society of India and currently Chairman and Director of Cardiology at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute, delivered the 34th Dr L. H. Lobo Memorial Oration on “Current blood pressure goals in treating hypertension on Saturday 8th October, 2016 which was attended by the  distinguished citizens of Ludhiana, doctors from the city, faculty, staff and students of CMC Ludhiana.
Prof Kamal K. Sethi stressed on the strict blood pressure control to prevent the harmful effects of high blood pressure.
A scientific symposium was held after the oration on ‘Recent advances in Cardiology’.  Prof Pramesh Kovoor, Director Cardiac Services, Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia delivered the keynote address on ‘Management of Myocardial infarction (Heart attack)’.
Dr Rajneesh Calton, Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology at CMC and Organizing Secretary of the conference informed that scientific sessions included national level speakers on various topics like Cardiogenic Shock Paradigm shift by Prof Yashpaul Sharma, PGI, Chandigarh, Atrial fibrillation and Stroke prevention: Role of NOAC by Prof. Mohan Nair, New Delhi and Aldosterone inhibitors – A Medical ICD : an untold story by Dr Rajiv Agarwal, Meerut.
Dr Abraham G Thomas – Director, Dr Bobby John – Principal, Dr Kim Mammen – Associate Director, Dr William Bhatti – Medical Superintendent and Dr Rajneesh Calton, Prof & Head, Department of Cardiology, Mr S Wadhera, Dr M K Mahajan, Dr Navneet Chaudhry, Dr Tarun Satija and other members of the trust were also present for this prestigious function.
