A Great Art Exhibition and Cultural Evening 2023

Colors of life, Colors of love, Colors of poverty, Colors of fear, colors of wisdom, colors of spiritual practice and colors of loneliness--all colors were presented in the the art exhibition.

This years event was dedicated to Late S. Harinder Pal Singh an international folk dance artist. event was organized by DAAR with the blessings and active cooperation of Punjab Arts Council at Kala Bhawan Chandigarh.

DAAR which stands for Dance And Art Researchers, is a unique society founded by artists who have been contributing in the field of performing and visual arts for the past several years. 

Dr. Surjit Patar, along with Lakhwinder Johal and Dr. Yograj paid a visit to the Exhibition. It was a moment drenched in inspiration and butterflies in stomach for the artists to show off their pieces to the dignitaries. One art piece was also got selected for the Magazine KaavLok. 

Gurmeet Kaur Goldie, a sculpture, show casts her talent in the exhibition as well. She had been into art besides being a Principal of a Govt School in the city beautiful. Her designed and crafted sculptures had been put up on the Sukhna Lake as well. She is not just creating but living her life in Art. 

This year’s event began with a collective exhibition which inaugurated on 25th August 2023, Friday, at 04:00 pm; Venue - Sobha Singh Art Gallery, Panjab Kala Bhawan, Sector-16 Chandigarh. Sh. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS-Chief Electoral Officer & Secretary to Government (Labour Deparment),Haryana was the Chief Guest of the evening.

The exhibition features more than 78 artists working with various media such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, drawings, mix media, digital art and photography.

Adding to its uniqueness, DAAR announced various awards for students of visual and performing arts for which entries were called without any entry fees from all around the tricity. We received an overwhelming response form around 80 students of visual arts.

The exhibition was followed by the award ceremony. A total of 6 awards including 4 cash awards and 2 merit certificates in the category of visual art were presented to the winners. 

Senior eminent artists of tricity Mr. Madan Lal and Mrs. Jaskanwaljit Kaur were presented with the Award of Honour for their contribution in the field of Visual Arts and Prof. Dr.Tirthankar Bhattacharya, famous Art Historian from Panjab University for his contribution in the field  of Art History.

The next day, 26th August 2024, was followed by Live Art Demonstrations by artists Mandeep Singh, Kukwinder Singh and Nakshdeep Singh.

Cultural Evening was organised at Tagore Theatre, Sec-16, Chandigarh,  on 28th August 2023. Various Folk Dance performances such as dandas, gidhaa and luddi were performed at the event to promote the culture of Punjab. Various awards in the field of Folk dances were also presented to honour Artists, Dhol players and coaches.

The closing ceremony was held on 28th August 2023. Padamshree Sh. Surjit Pattar ji was present at the closing ceremony. He appreciated the achievements of DAAR Society and wished us best for our future endeavours.

An exhibition on Audio Visual Aids was organized on 31st August 2022 by MSc(N) 1st Year (Batch 2021) and BSc(N) 2nd Year (2020 Batch) under the supervision of their subject co-ordinators Prof.(Mrs.) Balqis Victor (Nursing Education) and Mrs. Shehnaz Johnson,

Associate Professor (Communication and Educational Technology) under the guidance of Dr. Usha Singh, Professor and Principal, College of Nursing, CMC and Hospital,Ludhiana.  The exhibition was started at 9:30A.M. with ribbon cutting ceremony, done by Vice

Principals, Prof.(Mrs.) Glory Samuel and Prof.(Mrs.) Malini Singh Bhatti. After ribbon cutting, word of God followed by prayer was done by MSc(N) 1 st Year. Prof.(Mrs.) Glory Samuel, appreciated hard work of students and subject co-ordinators. Prof.(Mrs.) Malini Singh Bhatti motivated the students and congratulated the subject teachers. Prof.(Mrs.) Balqis Victor shared various types of learning methods and skills in various instrumental strategies. Mrs. Shehnaz Johnson appreciated the team work, co-operation and hard work of students. The Nursing Superintendent and other faculty appreciated the skills as students have made maximum Audio Visual Aids by themselves and different ways    the students have displayed various projected & non-projected Audio Visual Aids.

The Department of Fine Arts, Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana organized the Annual Art Exhibition on March 28, 2017. Ms. Poonampreet Kaur (PCS), Deputy Director Local Government was the chief guest on this occasion. Mrs. Naresh Jain W/o. Sh. Sukhdev Raj Jain, Chairman, college Managing Committee was the guest of honor. Ms. Neelam Dawar W/o. Sh. Surinder Dawar, MLA from Ludhiana District and Mrs. Neelam Jain W/o. Sh. Nand Kumar Jain, President, college Managing Committee, and Mrs. Abha Jain, daughter-in-law of Sh. Nand Kumar Jain graced the occasion with their benign presence. The exhibition was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The exhibition featured the skillful works of the undergraduate students of the college. They did their best to showcase the maximum variety of the mediums and disciplines within the preview of visual arts such as still life, ink sheets, oil sheets, posters, landscapes, chowki and clay modeling. The major attractions of the exhibition were the wonderful pieces of art made from so-called waste or discarded products. Appreciating the efforts of the students PCS Poonam Preet Kaur said, “Such exhibitions provide a platform to the upcoming artists to exhibit their talent. An Annual Exhibition “Fashion Fest-2015” is being organized by Fashion Designing Department from 25^th – 27^th March, 2015. President S. Gurbir Singh and Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal inaugurated the much awaited and grand exhibition.  On the first day of the three day event, students unveiled a range of embroidery suits, painted suits, hand painted dresses, articles of knitting and crocheting, embellished pots, baby garments, bed sheets, cushions, decorative tunics, photo frames, sceneries, designer tops and canvas paintings. The dresses embroidered with intricate beadwork and stone works including sequins are being showcased. Other available apparel products like baby quilts, hand bags have been also included. Bed covers using machine embroidery, tie and die and patchwork are available in huge range. Many industrialists paid a visit to the exhibition today and were surprised to see the creative handiwork of the students which included varied styled products in vogue. President S. Gurbir Singh and Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal appreciated the toil and hard work put in by the students and the faculty members.

Doli–The Wedding Grandeur–A Two day Premium Wedding, Lifestyle & Fashion Exhibition, was inaugurated by Mr. Ravneet S Bittu, MP (Lok Sabha), Ludhiana,at the Hotel Park Plaza. The Exhibition, kicked-off stylishly with models in designer apparel, posing with top Fashion designers. The glamourous exhibition will be on till 27 July. With Teej and Rakhi approaching, the festival fragrance is all over. So to offer options to buyers, special Rakhi stalls from Jaipur & Chandigarh have been put up. For Teej there are Make Up Artistes, Apparel, Mehndi, Suhaag Nishani's jewellery & heavy formal apparel.

The Pret collection of fashion brand Asim Jofa has also come to Ludhiana.  Neet Bridal Studio owned by Ravneet a Tellywood designer-- she has made apparel for many TV serials, has brought a fresh range of designer wear.

One can get a glimpse of the kind of sarees that Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty adorns at the Reins Creation’s showcase. Owner Mr. Rajesh from Indore says,  “The Western drapes make a female look modern, sensuous and yet traditional. I play with brocades, cottons & shimmers.” Ms. Payal Choithani from Nagpur has Westerns & Semi formal kurtis. She has designed for South African cricket team player - Hashim Amla's wife. Pollywood style has reached Ludhiana via Doli with Ms. Pankaj of CKC Studio who designs the personal wardrobe of Celebrity Satinder Satti. Apart from Pollywood, she will be entering the Bollwood arena soon.  Ms. Nivedita of Niveaz Ensembles, who again has designed attires for Pollywood Movies, is also presenting her dresses.

Apart from Bridal Couture there are Interiors specialists, Gold & Diamond Jewellers, wedding planners, Caterers, DJ, Photography, Make Up, Cosmetics, Luxury Premium Cars, Venue & Resorts, Holiday Packages and accessories available at Doli. A major attraction is offered by Zaira Diamonds the title sponsors of Doli. The brand will be distributing Diamond rings to lucky winners as a TEEJ celebration. 2 Lucky winners from visitors will get Diamond rings at 6:00 pm in lucky draws on both the days of the Exhibition.

Alzheimer’s day Celebrated by CMC Nursing College

Problem explained in an exhibition 

Ludhiana, 25th September, 2013:(Shalu Arora and Rector Kathuria): M.Sc.(N) 1st year, students of Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing, Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, celebrated Alzheimer’s day by putting up an awareness exhibition on the theme “Dementia:A journey of caring” in Medicine OPD of CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana. The poster exhibition covered about the definition, causes, risk factors, sign and symptoms, pathophysiology, stages and management of Dementia.

The programme started by welcoming the gathering followed by prayer. Prof. (Mrs.) Ponnamma R.Singh welcomed the chief guest for the programme, Dr. Kanwal Masih, Medical Superintendent, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana.

Unfolding of the theme was done by Dr.Triza Jiwan, Head of Mental Health (Psychiatric) nursing and she emphasized on care of individuals living with dementia, their management and treatment in her speech. An educative role play was enacted by the students depicting the care of patients with dementia.

Poster exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest followed by screening and health education for individuals above 60 years through Mini Mental Status Examination. A good response was received by the audience.
