Starting from the death of Rohit Vemulla to merciless beating of poor Dalits by those connected with Sangh Parivar to the foul language used by the former Vice President of Uttar Pradesh BJP has thoroughly exposed the nefarious designs of the forces of Hindutva to split the society on caste lines. These incidents are not spontaneous, these are a reflection of the anti Dalit casteiest approach of the RSS and followers of its ideology of Hindutva. Various speakers speaking on the occasion of a rally followed by procession organized by the Communist Party of India (CPI) Ludhiana today at the Railway Station Ludhiana cautioned that these will result into splitting of the society on caste lines and religious beliefs which they very unashamedly want to use in the coming elections.

Dr Arun Mitra – Asst. Sec. said that since the Modi Led BJP government has come to power there has been a serious attempt to rewrite the history totally negating the contribution of the the congress and communists in the freedom struggle. Several BJP ruled state governments have removed the names of Jawahar Lal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi from the history books. The role of Bhagat Singh and his colleagues is being belittled and instead the name of  Damodar Savarkar who had begged mercy from the British and assured of his cooperation to the British for his release from the Andeman Nikobar jail is being   highlighted. Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi is being eulogized. The universities are being made to be governed by the RSS ideologues while the progressive forces are being suppressed. The incidents of maligning the students and the teachers of JNU and then arresting Kanhiya Kumar on the basis of doctored video films has thoroughly exposed the designs of the present government.  Organizations affiliated to Sangh Parivar have been given free hand. Obscurantist thoughts are being propagated. It is unfortunate that the Prime Minister is citing the examples of plastic surgery in the ancient India whereby the head of animal could be sutured to the human body. Even the most advanced stem cell research is being highlighted to be present in the ancient India. 

Com D P Maur said that in the name of cow protection Akhlaq was lynched by these fundamentalists and now instead of punishing the culprits the family of Akhlaq is being framed. Those involved in the leather removal of the dead cows are being beaten and even forced to eat cow dung. Cases are being fabricated against them. Such incidents have happened even in Punjab but the Akali BJP government has turned a blind eye. He further said that the country’s sovereignty and integrity are in danger since the FDI has been allowed full scale even in the defense sector. Situation in Kashmir has deteriorated to the lowest level ever. Prices are soaring high and people are waiting for the Ache Din to come.

Dr Gulzar Singh Pandher said the CPI will do its best to foil the nefarious deigns of these forces. Law and order in the state is at its lowest ebb. Crime against all sections particularly women and the poor is on the rise. Police acts under pressure of their political masters so the justice is denied to them.

Rail fare hike will fuel inflation-A letter from INC

But instead of fulfilling his promise, one of his first major policy decisions as Prime Minister has been to hike rail fares. His government has increased passenger fares by 14.2%, the highest ever in our history, and freight charges by 6.5%. This move would fuel inflation and is against every promise he made in the election campaign. Higher freight charges will drive up the price of coal which will, in turn, make electricity more expensive. The already high prices of fruits and vegetables will rise even further. The fare hike could not have come at a more inappropriate time. Food prices are already on the rise. Global crude oil prices are increasing because of the conflict in Iraq, which will further push up inflation in India. Shri Modi politicised the issue of inflation and spared no opportunity in attacking evow en the most nominal fare hikes by the UPA government. ----Sat, Jun 21, 2014 at 10:46 AM In March 2012, he opposed the rail fare hike calling it “highly unjustified, since prices of a number of commodities are already ruling at a much higher level than people’s tolerance limits.” He even alleged that the hike was the result of a “communication gap” between the ministries of Railways, Energy, Coal and Environment. Today BJP Kisan Morcha hold Rail Roko protest at Railway Station Shergarh, Bathinda with large number of farmers and party workers. Talking with the media persons at railway track Shergarh today, National Secretary Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that today at hundreds of places in India lakh's of farmers are sitting on Railway tracks. He said that it's a message to the Congress led UPA Government does not take any positive step on the demands of the farmers, now BJP Kisan Morcha is ready for Kisan Aakrosh Divas on 7th February throughout the country. He said on that day morcha workers and farmers will sit on Railway track for which Government of india will be responsible. Grewal stated that after the Kisan Adhikar Divas by Kisan Morcha on 30th January the death anniversary of Gandhi and Kisan Morcha had stage dharnas in all the 618 district centres in pain and grief to expose anti- farmer polices of Congress-led UPA government before the general public. Grewal said that in Congress led UPA Government, the farmers of our country are facing drought condition created by the policies of government. He said that when the crops are destroyed, it is the death of the farmer not the crops. He said that 1,45,000 farmers were forced to commit suicides during the UPA rule. He alleged that the Government is directly responsible for these suicides. He said that the out dated policies and non  implementation of the proposed polices are behind these deaths. Grewal said that the benefit of UPA government’s loan waiver scheme went to banks and not to farmers. He said that the banks are now sending notices of attachment to farmers. The farmers of Yamuna Nagar in Haryana have even offered to give their kidney against payment of loans. Grewal said that BJP Kisan Morcha will raise issue of implementation of Swaminathan Commission regarding remunerative prices with 50% profit for the farmers. He said that our other issues are the recommendations made by the Chief Ministers Committee about compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre for risk management must also be implemented, the increased prices of mixed fertilizers must be taken back.

Workers jammed the railway track and held a rally

The nationwide strike call given by the 11 Central Trade Unions and various independent federations, unions and associations had an effective participation on the second day today. The workers affiliated to the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), INTUC, BMS, CTU, TUCC and CITU observed strike today in their respective industries and other institutions and thereafter they gathered at Bus stand from where they marched to the Provident Fund Office in Sham Nagar. After that workers in Thousands went to the Loco Diesel Shed and jammed the railway track and held a rally. Today’s protest rally  was presided over by Com Om Parkash Mehta - AITUC, Com Jatinder Pal Singh of CITU and  Shri Swaran Singh of INTUC, Com Paramjeet Singh of CTU, Sh Nageshwar Singh of BMS, Shri Sham Narain Yadav of TUCC. Speaking on the occasion state leaders Com Raghunath Singh, General Secretary of CITU Punjab,  Com. Inderjeet Singh- President CTU Punjab, Com Paramjeet Singh of CTU, Sh. Swaran Singh- President INTUC Punjab, Hari Singh Sahni-TUCC and Com D P Maur member state working committee AITUC.
The speakers said that yesterday’s strike was a complete success and it reflected the growing resentment among the working class against the anti people policies of the government.  They demanded minimum wages to be fixed by the Punjab Govt. @ for unskilled workers Rs 10,000, Semi Skilled 15,000, Skilled workers 20,000 per month, end to contractual and outsourcing and filling up of all govt. and semi govt. posts on regular basis, to disband the new pension policy effective from 1.1.2004 and implement the same old pension scheme on all employees. They also demanded creation of social security fund for the workers of the unorganized sector.   They cited low wages in the state as major reason for the shortage of labour in the state. They demanded all anti worker acts recently promulgated by the Punjab government to be withdrawn with immediate effect. The speakers said that the labour laws in the state are being flouted by both public and private sector with impunity. The contractual workers in both the sectors be regularized hence forth.  These must be implemented in letter and spirit. They deplored that under the process of so called globalization and privatization at the diktat of the world bank and International Monetary Fund ,  the economic policies of both central and state governments there has been accumulation of wealth in the hands of a few, while vast majority is suffering under acute poverty and unemployment. Latest reports have indicated that 100 top rich families in India own assets to the tune of 16 lakh crores of rupees where as 70% are forced to live on meager spending of Rs. 16.60  per day.  Speaking on the occasion Com. Tarsem Jodhan, Com D P Maur, Com Ram Lal, Jagdish Chand and Gurjeet Singh Jagpal, Gulzar Singh Gorea opposed FDI in banks, LIC and retail as this will hit the job situation hard for the employees and also the production in the small scale sector. They also demanded  regular jobs and equal wages for ASHA, Aanganwadi and mid day meal workers. They warned that if the govt. does not change its economic policies benefitting the rich and the corporate sector, then more militant agitations   are on the anvil. Others who addressed include Com Bhagirath Paliwal, Suresh Sood, Gurnam Gill, Laddoo shah, Haniuman Prasad Dubey, Samar Bahadur, Gurnam Sidhu, Kameshwar Yadav, Sarbjit Singh Sarhali, Manjeet Singh Buta, Charan Dass, Amarnath Kumkalan, S K Tiwari and Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Com Naresh Gaur, Dr Arun Mitra and Shri Gurbaksh Rai.
The protestors included large number of women, construction workers, industrial workers, Public health workers,  contractual workers, Corporation workers, roadways  and others sections of workers and employees.
