25 Sikhs killed in Kabul Gurdwara

200 people were believed to be trapped
Harrowing images from the scene. Absolutely heart-breaking. These attacks are horrible and reprehensible-and they remind us of how much work we have before us to end religious intolerance. I'm seeing far too much anti-Muslim hate in response to this violence.
From Kabul Afghanistan via Internet: 25th March 2020: (Punjab Screen Bureau)
According to the reports available on internet unidentified gunmen and suicide bombers attacked a Gurdwara in the Kabul the capital of Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing at least 11 people according to local media reports also. According to another media report  attackers targeted a ‘dharamshala’ in Shor Bazar area of Kabul, which has a sizeable population of the Hindu and Sikh minorities. figure of killed rose to 25. According to a Sikh leader Narindrpal Singh a member of Parliament, up to 200 people were believed to be trapped inside. After the attack a shock prevailed in the world.
As soon as hearing the attack on a Gurdawara Sahib Afghan security forces had blocked off the area and were taking on the attackers, Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said in a message to media persons. It was not immediately clear exactly how many attackers there were or who they were.
The incident began around 7.45 am local time in PD1 of Kabul city. Three attackers are still fighting with security forces, and one is shot”. Sikh Organisations condemned the incident allover the world.
A reminder that responding to hate with more hate hurts us all. Don't let yourself get sucked into bigotry. It's not worth it.
Photos and details are being given here from with courtesy from Simran Jeet Singh on Twitter.
Simranjeet Singh quoting an eyewitness Narindra Singh Khalsa also said in another thread that about 150 Sikhs trapped in Gurdwara during attack. Some told this figure 200 Sikhs. Narindra Singh Khalsa said that the gunmen started their attack at a time when the Dharamsala was full of worshipers.

Jagdish Tytler Appearing Before Akal Takht Sahib?

HS Phoolka Thu, May 5, 2016 at 4:12 PM
Phoolka will be meeting Jathedar tomorrow

In a TV interview, Jagdish Tytler has stated that he has written a letter to Akal Takht Sahib that he wants to meet Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib and appear before Akal Takht Sahib.
Jagdish Tytler in his website

It is shocking and surprising that the main mastermind of 1984 Anti- Sikh Genocide wants to appear before Akal Takht Sahib.
Mr. Phoolka has spoken to Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singhji and has taken time to meet him tomorrow and present all the proofs against Jagdish Tytler, showing his involvement in the Genocide.
Mr. Phoolka will be meeting Jathedar Sahib tomorrow in Delhi.
Mr. Phoolka recalls that day when after a criminal case was registered against Jagdish Tytler that time President of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee had presented a Saropa & Sword to Jagdish Tytler. These very elements may again try to facilitate Tytler’s meeting with Jathedar Sahib.
Mr. Phoolka will be to meeting Jathedar Sahib before that and will present all the proofs against Jagdish Tytler and would request Jathedar Sahib to impress upon the Central government to arrest Jagdish Tytler.

Mr. Phoolka's meeting with Jathedar Sahib cancelled

Saharanpur Riots–U.P. Police failed to check violence.

Bill against Communal Violence should be passed at earliest
U.P. Police and U.P. government remained mute spectators and failed to save the life and property of innocent citizens.
The reasons being given for inaction of police is that police was outnumbered by the Rioters, and Force was not sufficient.  This justification should not be acceptable at all.  It is a common excuse, given by the police in every riot, to cover up their inaction.

The action should be taken against the S.P. of Saharanpur for not taking any action to check the violence.

Due to increase in the Communal riots in recent past, its absolutely necessary that the Bill against ‘Communal Violence’ pending in Rajya Sabha since 8 years should be passed at the earliest.  It was promised  by UPA Government in 2004 as well as 2009 Elections, but they had failed to pass the Bill.
It is the duty and responsibility of the government to protect the life and property of every citizen.  Unfortunately in the recent past the communal tension has increased, and  a number of cases of communal violence and rioting have occurred.

The Central Government should realize its responsibility and should take up and pass the Bill against Communal Violence without any further delay.

1984 riots' cases: Phoolka dares Sukhbir to prove charges

Anshu Seth  LUDHIANA, February 19, 2014

First Published: 00:12 IST(19/2/2014) | Last Updated: 00:19 IST(19/2/2014)

Harvinder Singh Phoolka, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Ludhiana, has dared Punjab deputy chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal to prove the allegations that he (Phoolka) had charged money from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to fight cases of victims of 1984 riots.

“I give Sukhbir one week’s time to prove the allegations. If he succeeds, I promise to withdraw my candidature for the Lok Sabha elections and will also quit as a lawyer,” Phoolka said.
Sukhbir had on Monday alleged that Phoolka had charged money from various Sikh groups to fight cases of victims of 1984 riots. The AAP candidate clarified that as a lawyer he was entitled to charge fee for fighting cases, but he actually did not charge anything in all cases of riot victims that he handled. He stated that initially he had thought of serving a legal notice on Sukhbir, but then he decided against it and had left it to the people to give their verdict.

“Moreover, I trust the media, which took forward my fight against injustice and I am sure of an impartial expose in this case also,” Phoolka said. An emotionally charged Phoolka could not control his tears while interacting with the media and excused himself for a few minutes to calm down. Later, he went on, “If Sukhbir is not able to prove the allegations, he should step down from the chair of deputy CM and also from the post of SAD president.”
He stated that a person who tried to malign the image of a crusader fighting for rights of riot victims was unfit to chair a party like the SAD, known for its struggle and sacrifice for the nation. “Chhod Akali Dal nahin toh janta tujhe joote maar kar nikalegi (Leave SAD or else you will be booted out by the public),” Phoolka added.
Offers of help
Various groups of people were seen hovering around the AAP’s main office in Sarabha Nagar here, offering support in the form of space, vehicles and manpower. However, AAP members are exercising caution before accepting help so as to keep anti-social elements away.
This is Sukhbir Badal reply.

Sahibzaade Baba Ajit Singh ji

Strong, Intelligent and a Natural leader-Dilpreet Singh
Sahibzaade Baba Ajit Singh ji de janam diwas diyan lakh lakh vadhiyaan
When Guru Gobind Singh Ji returned with the family to Anandpur where Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji was brought up in the approved Sikh style. He was taught religious texts, philosophy and history, and had training in the manly arts such as riding, swordsmanship and archery. He grew up into a handsome young man; strong, intelligent and a natural leader of men.
Brief account of Baba ji in Battles field:
The Ranghars of Nuh
Soon after the creation of the Khalsa on 13 April 1699, he had his first test of skill. A Sikh Congregation ('Sangat') coming from the Pothohar region of northwest Punjab, was attacked and looted on the way by the Ranghars (a Muslim tribe) of Nuh, a short distance from Anandpur across the River Satluj. Guru Gobind Singh Ji sent Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji, then barely 12 years old, to that village. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji along with a 100 men reached the spot on 23 May 1699, punished the Ranghars and recovered the looted property.

Taragarh and Nirmohgarh
A harder task was entrusted to Sahibzada Ajit the following year when the hill chiefs supported by imperial Mughal troops from Lahore and Sirhind attacked Anandpur. Sahibzada Ajit Singh was made responsible for the defence of the Taragarh Fort, which became the first target of attack on 29 August 1700. Ajit Singh, assisted by Bhai Udai Singh, a seasoned soldier, repulsed the attack. He also fought valiantly in the battle of Nirmohgarh in October 1700. On 15 March 1701, a Sikh Sangat coming from the Darap area (near Sialkot) was waylaid by Gujjars and Ranghars. Sahibzada Ajit Singh led a successful expedition against them.

Restoring a Brahmin's wife
In March 1703, Dewki Das, a Brahmin came to Anandpur and requested the Guru to help him in getting back his wife whom Chowdhry Jabar Khan, the chief of Dera Bassi, had taken away forcibly; the Guru asked Sahibzada Ajit Singh and Bhai Udey Singh to help the Brahmin. On the 7th of March 1703, both of them, joined by about one hundred Sikhs, went to Bassi Kalan; they put siege to the village and sent a message to Jabar Khan to return the Brahmin's wife; but Jabar Khan, instead of returning the Brahmin’s wife, asked his soldiers to attack the Sikhs; it was followed by a full-fledged battle, in which Jabar Khan was killed; the Brahmin's wife was restored to him. When this news reached the people, they praised the Sikhs for their role

Battle of Chamkaur
Sahibzada Ajit Singh led one of the sallies and laid down his life fighting in the thick of the battle. Gurdwara Katalgarh now marks the spot where he fell, followed by Sahibzada Jhujhar Singh who led the next sally. - Wiki.

Case against Union Minister Kamal Nath by AISSF

Tue, Feb 4, 2014 at 8:32 AM
AISSF Dares DSGMC and SAD (Badal) To File Case
February 4, 2014
New Delhi: 4th Feb 2014: (Karnail Singh Peermohammad//Punjab Screen):
While charging Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and SAD (Badal) of playing politics on the issue of 1984 Sikh Genocide, All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has challenged Manjit Singh GK, President DSGMC to a file criminal case against Congress (I) MP Kamal Nath for his role in 1984 massacre of Sikhs. Union Minister Kamal Nath is accused of leading death squads in 1984 that attacked Gurudwara Rakab Ganj in which many Sikhs were burnt alive.
AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad stated that the first name of any congress leader involved in massacre of Sikhs in 1984 was that of Kamal Nath as reported by Indian Express on November 2. Mukhtiar Singh, a witness, who is presently employee of DSGMC, testified about Kamal Nath’s role in leading death squads during attack on Gurudwara Rakab Ganj.

Daring DSGMC and SAD (Badal) to come true on their recent “Sham Demonstrations” seeking justice for 1984 genocide victims, Peermohammad stated that since attack was made on Gurdwara managed by DSGMC, Manjit Singh GK has locus standing to file criminal case against Kamal Nath. Since the witness Mukhtiar Singh is in control of DSGMC and SAD (Badal), why the case has not been filed so far, asked Peermohammad.

Federation President, Peermohammad, who is spearheading justice campaign for 1984 victims, stated that it is “ironic that DSGMC and SAD (Badal) leaders only remember 1984 genocidal attacks on Sikhs during the election campaigns” While victims are seeking convictions against Congress leaders, DSGMC and SAD (Badal) are still seeking names of those who were involved in massacre of Sikhs from Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.”

Mukhtiar Singh, who lived within the premises of the Gurdwara Rakab Ganj during 1984, filed an affidavit with Nanavati Commission, stating that “a big mob lead by Congress leaders Kamal Nth attacked the gurdwara at 11 am, raising anti-Sikh slogans and pelting stones. The police following instructions from the Congress leader, fired several rounds at the gurdwara.  An old Sikh man who tried to pacify the crowd was burnt alive. His son, who ran to his rescue, met with the same fate.”

Sanjay Suri, an Indian Express photographer, also gave an affidavit to Justice Nanavati stating Kamal Nath was leading a strong crowd of about 4000 people that attacked Gurudwara Rakab Ganj.

All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) have also announced to collect affidavits from 1984 victims, survivors and witnesses with information of Congress party leaders and workers who were involved in the genocidal attacks on the Sikh community during 1984 and has not still been charged.

Sikh Groups Call On Obama to Reinstate IRS Agent

Sat, Feb 1, 2014 at 6:30 PM
Agent Fired For Wearing Religious Article of Faith
On January 28, 2014 letters were sent to President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder by twelve major American Sikh advocacy organizations, including UNITED SIKHS, calling on the Obama Administration to immediately reinstate Kawaljeet Tagore, a Sikh IRS Agent based out of Houston, TX fired in July, 2006 for wearing a kirpan, a Sikh religious article of faith.
Following her termination, Tagore sued the IRS and the Federal Protective Service (FPS),the federal agency responsible for the security of federal buildings, under Title VII and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act for failing to accommodate her Sikh religious practice of wearing the kirpan, a dagger-like article that symbolizes the Sikhs’ commitment to justice.  Even though FPS and IRS allow saws, box cutters, letter openers, and cake knives into federal buildings for work-related purposes, the IRS and FPS defended Tagore’s lawsuit by claiming that a federal criminal law, 18 U.S.C. section 930, prohibits them from according Tagore any accommodation for her kirpan.
In 2012, a Houston federal judge sided with the government and dismissed Tagore’s lawsuit. However, on November 13, 2013, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit—relying on a December, 2012 FPS Policy Directive that requires accommodation of kirpans —reversed the federal judge’s ruling in favor of FPS. The Fifth Circuit held that the new FPS Policy Directive “contradicts the arguments previously advanced by the government for denying Tagore an exception or exemption for the wearing of her kirpan.
Yet, to date, the government has refused to reinstate Tagore to her position as an IRS agent, compensate her, or accommodate her kirpan.
“A hard working IRS agent is being kept from work due to her religious beliefs in a country founded on diversity and religious freedom. The FPS has already allowed 2.5 inch kirpans in almost 9,000 federal buildings but will not allow Ms. Tagore to wear her kirpan to work in an IRS building. Now that this inconsistency has been addressed by the Fifth Circuit, it is time to give Ms. Tagore her job back,” said Anisha Singh, staff attorney and policy advocate for UNITED SIKHS.

In their letter, UNITED SIKHS, along with other Sikh advocacy groups, claim that the “IRS and FPS’ continuing violation of Ms. Tagore’s right to religious accommodation is contrary not only to RFRA and FPS Directive 15.9.3.1 but to the guiding principles and tenets of the Obama Administration,” including an Executive Order that requires federal agencies to promote diversity. The Sikh groups call on Obama to “direct the Civil Division of the Department of Justice, IRS, and FPS to appropriately resolve” Tagore’s lawsuit, by “reinstating her employment with the IRS and providing her with an exemption to wear her kirpan to work.”

Bhai Gurbax Singh Khalsa's Struggle

Tue, Jan 28, 2014 at 1:44 PM
....And our so called ‘panthic leaders’  --Dr Gurnam Singh, UK.
Following a 42 day hunger strike demanding release of six prisoners who had already completed their jail terms after being convicted in connection with the assassination of former chief minister Beant Singh’s in 1995, former detainee Bhai Gurbax Singh Khalsa from Haryana submitted himself to an edict of Akal Takht head Gurbachan Singh asking Gurbax to end his fast. Giving personal commitments to approach the chief Minister of Panjab, Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, the Jathedar impressed upon Gurbaksh to give panthic leaders an opportunity of secure the permanent release of the 6 political prisoners.
The six prisoners in question include Bhai, Lal Singh, who was lodged in Patiala's Nabha jail, Bhai Waryam Singh lodged in a Uttar Pardesh jail in a different case, Gurdeep Singh, lodged in a Karnataka jail in a TADA case and Gurmeet Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Shamsher Singh who were all are lodged in Burail jail at Chandigarh after their life conviction in the Beant Singh assassination case.

However, the Sikh Organisation of Prisoners Welfare (SOPW), a charity supporting these and other detainees, recently announced Gurmeet Singh had been ordered to return to Burail Jail. Both Gurmeet and his family were reported as ‘being distrust’. For Gurmeet and his family the past month has ‘been something of a rollercoaster ride: from the ecstatic feeling of being reunited with his family after eighteen years, to returning home for the first time since he lost his father, to the heartbreaking moment when he had to say goodbye to the short lived freedom he had tasted’.

Given the inability of the Jathedars to keep their promise to take actions to ensure the permanent release of the six prisoners released on payroll, the SOPW issues a warning. ‘Over the last couple of months, many promises have been made, many people have made a name for themselves, many photo’s have been taken and many Sikh’s emotions have been played with. However, none of the leaders, ruling parties, religious bodies or influential people have carried out their promises. When the tv camera’s and media people packed up and left Gurdwara Amb Sahib in Mohali, our so called leaders returned to their own worlds where they neither hear, nor say, nor do.’

Bhai Gurbax Singh was/is a very sincere and inspirational gurumukh. However, I have to say many of the hangers on who posed for pictures with him really have little concern for, justice, political prisoners or the Khalsa Panth. The Sant Samaj in particular are Badal's poodles and they will not do anything that he or the corrupt political class do not sanction. The reality is that our dharam is gulam; on the one hand we have the likes of K.P.S Gill, Sumedh Singh Saini, K.S Brar and Congress and BJP politicians who will gladly kill ordinary Guru Sikhs. And on the other we have the 1000's of Masands and Baba's - and I include those that claim to be Panthic - who say one thing but do another.

Their true colours were recently exposed during the clashes at Patna Sahib - go against their command or desire and the serene sant quickly turns into a gunda. Look at what happens when any big baba passes away; even before the Baba has had his antam ardass the chelas begin to square up to each other and civil war ensues, each vying for the 'gadhi'. This is also why for every samparda, there are many factions and pretenders claiming to be the true custodians of the dynasty. And, like gangsters and criminal politicians, the baba's have their own personal militia's brandishing automatic weapons. Why if they are one with waheguru do they fear death? If they have such spiritual powers (Brahm Gian) why would anybody want to attack them? Of course the reality is that they fear attacks from the other gangster Baba's often over land and monetary disputes. Or in the case of Nihangs, they operate protection rackets.

Sant Jarnail Singh ji had very little time for these pakandhis. He was a man of ordinary people of al faiths and none. He was not interested in personal possessions or fame. His power was in his simple devotion to the pure teachings and example of our Guru's, which was to live a spiritual, frugal life but also to fight oppression. That is why the Masands, Baba's and Corrupt Akali Politicians conspired to kill him. The same forces, had the eye of the media not been there, that would have disposed of Bhai Gurbax Singh. Indeed, Bhai Gurbax Singh in his discourses at Ambh Sahib often referred to these fifth columnists in the Sangat - he would say there are peole here who have come to support me but there are also those that want to kill him.

They have little regard for Sikhi and all they can offer is ritualised practices - smagams to fill their coffers and keep the masses from realising the true causes of their misery. Yes, most of their chelas are people suffering from various physical, mental or economic troubles. And instead of seeking out professional support, which they probably can't afford, they go for the cheap Baba version. And as far as economic problems are concerned, rather than gamble their money on the promises of some Baba's ardas (equivalent of a bookie), they should really be asking why they are in poverty? And the answer is simple; it is the system and not waheguru. It is the greed of the rulers and their resident baba's. And once this is realised, then it becomes obvious, the only solution is to create common cause with other poor people to overthrow the system. And we have many examples from the Gurus pointing us tpowards such a strategy. For example, read Rattan Singh Banghu who said "gareeb ka mooh, guru ki golak". The sakhi of Guru nanak Ji and Bhai Lalo provides another examination.

And so as doubt and pessimism seems to be replacing the euphoria and optimism surrounding ending of Bhai Gurbax Singh Khalsa’s hunder strike, people that have a genuine concern for justice for prisoners who made huge sacrifices to confront the fascist dictatorship in Panjab during the decade after 1984 resulting in the death of 1000’s of innocent people, Sikh and non-Sikh at the hands of state terrorism, need to think carefully. Today, there is a need for a new leadership of which Gurbax Singh Khalsa in one shining example. This is a leadership whose hall mark is justice, equality and inclusivity. It is a leadership that is opposed to sectarianism and is seeking to confront all those that do and have abused power, not least the many so called jathedars and Sants that demand loyalty of the Sikh masses without reciprocating that very same loyalty.

          Sikh  History
   "waheguru ji ka khalsa
      waheguru ji ki fateh"

We would like to have your attention towards a matter that is important for our community as well as the "history" that the generation to come will look at.

introducing ourselves ,, we are a group of people working as a unit across the country to fulfil our "Desire to Serve “people with education and career related sessions ,imparting morale values through shows and plays; and saving environment through small initiatives..

Sir, the Sikh community has been serving the country since long... Whether it is the martyrdom of our ninth lord Sri Guru tegh bahadur sahib ji; to defend hinduism when Aurangzeb tried to destroy it from the roots....; or the sacrifice of thousands of Sikhs to gain independence...; the community never showed its back to the country.
But, it is sad that we have not been given the required recognition...
The "singhs" who saved the prides f thousands f women; have been made a piece of mockery by the masses today... It’s a shame to all those and a matter of grief for us.

Coming to the point i would like you to review the history of the name "TEES HAZARI" in the relevance of "SARDAR BAGHEL SINGH”...

Baghel singh was an important military general during turbulent times in punjab in the 18th century. He was born in the village of chabal kalan in the taran taran district. He grew up to become leader of the karor singhia fighting order or misl. From humble beginings he arose to become a formidable force in sutlej in yamuna area. He aligned himself with karor singhia misl led by sardar karor singh and succeded it in 1765.
As well as being a good soldier, baghel singh was a very good political negotiator and was able to win over many adversaries to his side.
The mughals, the ruhilas, the marathas and the british sought his friendship. In March 1776, they defeated the imperial forces of Mughal emperor, Shah Alam II near Muzaffarnagar. The whole of the Yamuna Gangetic Doab was now at their mercy.
Ahmed shah durrani(abdali) invasion killed 30,000 -40,000 sikh women ,children and old . So,baghel singh fought with Abdali  near malerkotla..
After durrani"s invasion sikhs starting consolidating territories between yamuna and indus to defend the country from future mughals attacks.

"TEES HAZARI" gets its name from a force of 30,000 Sikhs, which encamped here under military general Baghel Singh in 1783, prior to attacking Delhi. Under the command of Baghel Singh and other leading warriors crossed the Yamuna and captured Saharanpur. They overran the territory of Najib ud-Daulah, the Ruhila chief, acquiring from him a tribute of eleven lakh of rupees (INR 1,100,000). In April Baghel Singh with two other sardars (Rai Singh Bhangi and Tara Singh Ghaiba) crossed the Yamuna to occupy that country, which was then ruled by Zabita Khan, who was the son and successor of Najib ud-Daulah. Sardar Baghel Singh set up an octroi-post near Sabzi Mandi to collect the tax on the goods imported into the city to finance the search and the construction of the Sikh Temples. (He did not want to use the cash received from the Government Treasury for this purpose, and most of that was handed out to the needy and poor. He often distributed sweetmeats bought out of this government gift to the Congregationalists at the place which is now known as the Pul Mithai.)

On 11 March 1783, when the Sikhs entered the Red Fort in Delhi and occupied the Diwani-Am, the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II made a settlement with them agreeing to allow Baghel Singh to raise gurdwaras on Sikh historical sites in the city and receive six annas in a rupee (37.5%) of all the octroi duties in the capital. Baghel Singh stayed in Sabzi Mandi with 4000 troops and took charge of the police station in Chandni Chowk. He located seven sites connected with the lives of the Gurus and had shrines risen thereon within the space of eight months, from April to November 1783. Gurdwara Sis Ganj marked the spot in the main Mughal street of Chandni Chowk where Guru Tegh Bahadur had been executed under the fiat of the emperor and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, near modern day Parliament House, where the body was cremated. Bangla Sahib and Bala Sahib commemorated the Eighth Guru, Guru Har Krishan. Three other gurdwaras were built at Majnu ka TillaMoti Bagh, and Telivara.

EVERY IMPORTANT BUILDING HAS ITS “INFORMATION BOARD "DEPICTING IT HISTORY N BACKGROUND. SO WHY NOT TEES HAZARI??

WE HUMBLY REQUEST TO PUTTING UP LIGHT BOARDS OF TEES HAZARI HISTORY AT EVERY ENTRANCE OF COURT COMPLEX. IT WOULD BE PROUDFUL FOR THE COMMUNITY AND A GESTURE TO US TO SEE THE NAME OF “SARDAR BAGHEL SINGH " IN RELEVANCE OF THE NAME TEES HAZARI :: HONOURING THE ENTRANCE OF THE COURT ..
