Nehal Wadhera of BCM Arya to attend Zonal Cricket Camp

Nehal Wadhera of BCM AryaSenior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, is a part of select group of 24 players from all the states of North India i.e. Punjab, Delhi-Haryana, Himachal, and J&K. He is the only player of Ludhiana from his age group to be part of this elite camp.

These players from their respective States are chosen after their exemplary performance in recently held U-16 National level tournament called Vijay Merchant Trophy. This left-handed batsman is known for his fantastic cricketing techniques.

As per principal Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur, “We are very happy to see that along with the passion for the game, he maintains good academics too.“

Son of prominent education entrepreneur Mr. Kamal Wadhera of TCY group, Nehal has been a very dedicated player since age 8. According to his mother Gurpreet Wadhera, “Nehal has always been highly focused and dedicated towards his game.”

Further, these 24 players will be under strict observation of the best coaches for almost a month. At the end of this camp, top players for the inter-zonal tournament will be taken out.  

BCM MUN -2016 Reaches Culmination

BCM held the closing ceremony of Model United Nations which opened on Friday morning, and kicked off a full schedule of debate, problem solving and collaboration surrounding simulated situations in international affairs.

During three day long conference, participants represented a country   formed a resolution group with other countries to meet their combined interests on a certain topic and determine future course of action following days of debating.

The Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony, Lt.Gen. Ashwini Kumar Bakshi ,said that the range of situations is wide and not limited to current affairs.Mr.Rushil , MUN Chief of Staff and Ms. Japjit, MUN Convener presented glimpses of events of three days.The videos, created by Rachit and Aryaman , showcased on the closing ceremony, were representative of the liveliness and the effort towards learning that was present throughout the event. The ambience was uplifting.

Speaking on the importance of having intra-school MUNs, Dr. Paramjit Kaur, the School Principal said, “Through this, we are helping the school students do better in the competitive MUN culture and bring out Competitiveness. Our tagline is 'Making future leaders' and that's what we intend to do.”

The closing ceremony came to an end with awards given off to the best performing delegates in each committee by their respective chairs and finally with teachers, who observed the event unfold closely, sing praises of the students for their achievement. The performances that were part of the closing ceremony was greatly appreciated by the cultural connoisseurs.The MUN had the maximum number of I.P  member’s i.e.85.

A vote of thanks was proposed by Secretary General Mohak Thukral who thanked all executive committee members, partners, sponsors and participants for helping to make the event a success.

An Enriching Simulation of the UN for Students

Amid much enthusiasm, a three-day Model United Nations (MUN), 2016 convention was kicked off on friday at the BCM Arya School with an aim of providing students a realistic simulation of a diplomatic environment and  enhance their skills of critical analysis and operative dialogue to have them plunge into the issues which plague humanity in today’s world.

Addressing the delegates, Chief Guest Mr. Deepak Vohra, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs said, “Youngsters today are very keen to learn, talented and vibrant and platforms like these should reach out to each and every nook and corner of our country,” “Many of our problems  are global in nature and  cannot be properly addressed if we act in isolation from other nations.” said  Vohra 
“We need to know...how this world works, in 2016 and the future -- more than ever before because I think that we are still the best choice to lead that world of equals. You need to be ready to do that,” said he.

Featured with 8 different committees and councils, the conference allowed some 500 school level debaters from different schools to don the hats as diplomats and law-makers from all over the world and promised to serve as an enriching learning experience for one and all.

Delegates from Germany and Mexico were also part of  BCM MUN which seamlessly exemplified school’s fundamental conviction of fostering comprehensive front-runners and encouraged participants to frame and pass resolutions on debating issues like UNGA: “Assessing the impact on International peace and security due to the South China issue”, UNSC: Radical Islanic fundamentalism and the threat it poses to International peace and security”, UNHRC: Elimination of all forms of violence against women and children with special emphasis on post conflict areas” and AIPPM: Discussions over implementations of a uniform civil code, discussions over alleged saffronisation of of education.”

The Conference officially opened with speeches by Director General Sonal Sharma along with Gauravdeep, Chief Advisor and Secretary General Mohak Thukral. The attraction of the opening ceremony was the eye-catching Classical Dance Performance which enthralled the audience.

Dr. Paramjit Kaur, the school Principal, in her keynote address said that MUN 2016 would be an extremely important learning experience for students, wherein they understand current affairs, debate techniques and research skills and subsequently giving them a holistic learning experience.  She expressed gratitude towards the Delegates, Executive Board members and members for making this conference a great success. She exhorted the students to do one random act of kindness daily to set the world in right direction.

The three-day conference will test the preparedness of the delegates and their understanding of the countries they represent, as well as the issues under discussion.

Vedic Karmayoga Camp – 2016 concludes at B.C.M Arya

An impressive colourful cultural show

A week long residential  Vedic Karmayoga Camp (Boys and Girls) concluded at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School campus amidst much fun and frolic. This  was organized with a view to make the students aware about the basic teaching and principles of the glorious Indian Culture and the Vedas as well as to inculcate good moral and spiritual values to lead a good and stress free life. For a group of 109 students of class VI to VIII, the camp was a food for soul, keeping them away from the busy schedule of studies and hum- drum of life.

The campers were involved in a wide array of activities viz. Meditation, Yoga, Folk Dances, Painting, Drawing, Morning Hawan, Religious Thoughts and Personality Grooming to give them the right direction to channelize their energy. A number of prominent Guest Speakers deliberated on some important social issues during the camp.

An impressive colourful cultural show by the students marked the Closing Ceremony.         Mr. V.K Goyal, Executive Director and CEO, SEL Group, Ludhiana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The students presented a number of items like dances, songs, yogic exercises and speeches and snapshot of beautiful moments of the camp.

Some parents of the campers also expressed their gratitude for the school authorities for providing such wonderful platform to students.

Speaking in the occasion, Principal (Dr.) Mrs. Paramjit Kaur exhorted the campers to keep up the high human values to build up a good national character.

Chief Guest, appreciated the performance of the campers and the school authorities for putting up wonderful effort in arranging this week-long residential Camp.

‘Animal Protection Day’ by Nursery Kids at BCM

Event to encourage students to care for animals

Ludhiana: 13 May 2016: (Punjab Screen Bureau):

The Nursery wing of BCM Arya Model Sr. Sec. School celebrated ‘Animal Protection Day’ to encourage students to care for animals and not to hurt animals.  Students brought different animal toys and they were asked to take full care of their companion animal the entire day. It was amazing to watch children of such tender age show concern for their companion.  The purpose of the activity was to develop a sense of responsibility and compassion in the students. A few students came dressed up as their favourite animal and shared the details of the animal with other students. Students also enjoyed watching the animated movie DUMBO.

Dr. Paramjit Kaur, the Principal said that it is important to infuse love and care for the fauna and flora in the students to save our Nature.
