A book by Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla released by Governor

Guru Nanak's Vision of Multicultural Society and Peaceful Coexistence', a book written by Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla, Principal of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana, is unveiled by the Hon'ble Governor of Punjab Sh. Banwarilal Purohit at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh. This book has been written to convey to the younger generation the divine message of Unity of God, Unity of Mankind, equality, mutual love, world peace, mutual love and cooperation and benevolence given by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism to the international community. The book has a immense relevance in the current scenario in the sense as there is strong sense of mutual distrust, communalism, narrow mindedness, disrespect for human rights, sense of insecurity among minorities, conservative attitude towards ethnic divisions and socio-cultural conflicts exist in our present day society.

On this occasion Hon'ble Governor of Punjab Mr. Banwarilal Purohit while sharing his views said that Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla has been continuously analysing the social, economic, cultural, religious and political aspects of Guru Nanak's philosophy for a long time. This book will help us to find a lasting solution to the problems of discrimination on the basis of caste, class, religion, color, language, region, etc., keeping in view the present day needs and also will inspire us all to follow the path shown by the Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He, while praising Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla's book, said that in the academic field also, Dr. Bhalla's book will prove to be extremely useful for all scholars and research students engaged in research work on the philosophy and Bani of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  On this occasion, Dr. Subhash Sharma, Former Senator, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Senator, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Prof. Navpreet Kaur Bhalla, Head, Department of Economics, Guru Nanak Prem Karamsar College, Nadala and others were also present.

Dr. Bhalla, commenting on his book, said that 552 years ago Guru Nanak Dev Ji developed the concept of a multicultural society with a revolutionary message to inspire masses to respect human dignity and human rights; to build communal harmony and to promote world peace; to respect socio-cultural diversities and difference of opinions; and to establish a multicultural society  to promote peaceful coexistence, where every person has equal rights and equal opportunities to make progress in all spheres of life without any socio-cultural discriminations and respect the religious differences and human dignity. Dr. Bhalla also said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy of universal brotherhood, equality and respect for human dignity was prevalent even before the West had developed the concept of ‘democracy’. Dr. Bhalla expressed a heartfelt gratitude to Dr. H. S. Bedi, Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamsala. Dr. S. P. Singh, Former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Prof. Pithipal Singh Kapoor, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and said that it was due to the support and guidance of these visionary personalities that this book is written.

It is worth mentioning here that this is the eleventh book by Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla and besides that he has so far written more than eighty research papers and completed research work approved by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. He is a member of various National and International academic bodies and various governmental and non-governmental organizations have honoured Dr. Bhalla for his research work, contribution to higher education and social services. He has also been nominated by the Vice President of India for the Senate of Panjab University, Chandigarh in recognition of his recent achievements in the field of higher education.

Foot ball for Unity launch event at Chandigarh

His Excellency  Governor of Punjab  Shri V P Singh Badnore, Advisor Parimal Rai, HS Anurag Aggarwal, BJP President Sanjay Tandon,Sports Secy Punjab , MLA Bassi Pathana Gurpreet attended Foot ball for Unity launch event 

His Excellency  Governor of Punjab Shri V P Singh Badnore Today Launched Football for Unity UK alliance by Southhall Football Club at Chandigarh , Football for Unity is an unique alliance initiated by 
Lord Diljit Singh Rana, Baron of Melone, Chairman Cordia Group , in India UK"s Premier Southhall Football Club, a premiere football club of UK now in alliance with Las Rozas Football Club  will impart training to coaches and students in different parts of the country, starting from Cordia Edu City, Sanghol,  Punjab. Apart from this the management is also introducing Football for Unity,  an alliance with Las Rozas Football Club, Spain , 
a global initiative to  :
1. Promote unity by developing cultural exchanges between children and young people of different ages.
2. Provide structured football games and training facilities for children of all backgrounds, particularly those from under privileged families.
3.  Promote healthier lifestyles among young people through exercise and team spirit.
His Excellency V P Bandore while launching Football for Unity said ,Its such a great begining that will shape up our young budding footballers ,the best part is World standard training by International  Masters will boost India's chances in Football World and they will definately shine like stars in Football world too.He extended whole heartedly support for upliftment of Football in Punjab and Chandigarh by offering scholarship to deserving talented young footballers . Whereas promoting cultural and sports exchanges will bring lots of harmony in our relationships too .

Founder Trustee of Football for Unity Charanjit Gill  said our aim is to provide world class coaching  to India's budding football aspirants irrespective of their financial status, what we are looking is strong will and dedication of from economically weaker /stronger young footballers so that we may train them to face International football world.
Speaking on the occasion the Vice Chairman, Karan Veer Singh, said this International initiative among Big Boys of football will act as a bridge to channelise the Abundant energy of the youth of Punjab in a positive way which would also give our Youth the International exposure and  put Them at par with International Football players.

Sh. VP Singh Badnore, Governor Punjab Visits Vet Varsity

Sh. VP Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab today visited Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. Sh. Badnore visited Dairy Farm, College of fisheries, Poultry Farm and Veterinary Hospital along with Dr Amarjit Singh Nanda, Vice-Chancellor and officers of Varsity. Dr. BS Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor of PAU also attended the visit. Sh. Bandore showed keen interest about the different research points on livestock rearing, feed management, breed improvement and better production. 
While visiting college of fisheries Dr Asha Dhawan, Dean of the college apprised him of various academic, research and extension activities of the college. Sh. Badnore appreciated the on-going research programme towards diversification of fish farming with high value species like catfish and murrels, aquaculture in inland salt affected zero earning wastelands, ornamental fish culture and processing for value addition. He advised faculty to formulate an effective plan for eradicating harmful exotic species like thai magur from the natural resources which is affecting the price native fauna. 
Dr. A L Saini, HoD, livestock production and management showcased a project of students at poultry farm, a business skill model under the title of "Livestock Business Skill Development- Incubation Units" for the Veterinary Students with the objective to impart hands on training to inculcate entrepreneurship in Poultry Farming in the budding scientists/students. Sh.  Badnore also interacted with students about the project.
At Veterinary Clinical Complex Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean College of Veterinary Science apprised him about the different facilities of the hospital. He explained about the different units of hospital, X-Ray and Surgery unit and Diagnostic lab. The Key departments of the university who are part of animal treatment also showcased their work and described their priorities. 
Sh. Badnore interacted with faculty members and expressed his points of concern to deliver better facilities to farming community.
