Dr. Ojha gave interesting insight in political history

A one day National Seminar on “Punjab During the Early Medieval Period: The Politico-Socio-Cultural Transitional Phase” sponsored by ICSSR, Panjab University, Chandigarh was organized at Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana on March 12, 2014. Ten papers were presented in two technical sessions.
The seminar began with ceremonial lighting of lamp and reciting of Namokar Mantra. A floral welcome was extended to the keynote speaker & chairperson of first technical session Dr. N.K. Ojha, Professor, Deptt. of A.I.H.C. & A., Panjab University, Chandigarh and chairperson of second technical session Dr. Ashvini Agarwal, Professor, Deptt. of A.I.H.C. & A., Panjab University, Chandigarh by Samaj Rattan Sh. Hira Lal Jain, Chairman of the college Managing Committee, Sh. Kedar Nath Jain President, Sh. Bipin Jain Secretary, Sh. Surinder Kumar Jain Manager, Sh. Raj Kumar Jain, Sh. Shanti Saroop Jain, Sr. Vice Presidents, Sh. Sheetal Kumar Jain Vice President and all the other worthy members of Managing Committee. In his keynote speech Dr. Ojha gave interesting insight into the political history, polity and economy of early medieval punjab and kind of religious cultural changes that transpired during the 6th -12th century.
Delegates presented papers on various sub themes including prevalence of untouchability status of women and shifting of political ideology in that age.
Dr. R.K. Sharma, Deptt. of Public Administration acted as the chief guest of valedictory session. All the guest were honoured by the members of Management Committee. Speaking on the occasion, college principal Dr. Sarita Bahl extended her gratitude to the guest for consenting to spare their time for the event. She also congratulated the members of organizing committee for putting in sincere efforts to make the seminar a success.Seminar concluded with a valedictory report and distribution of certificates, followed by National Anthem.
