Justice demanded for Gaganpreet Singh Nat
Video on Reality Released by AAP
Ludhiana, March 24, 2014; (Punjab Screen Bureau):
Ludhiana’s AAP candidate for Lok Sabha, Mr. Phoolka visited
Gaganpreet Singh Nat’s family who was brutally murdered on the day of Holi. This
condolence visit was followed up with a huge candle vigil to raise a voice
against the local police who has been shamefully ignoring the case and has not
taken a single step to investigate or even register an FIR for the murder.
Gaganpreet’s young sister and father have given a heart wrenching
account of what has transpired with them during the candlelight vigil. A video
made by AAP to this effect is being launched tonight on Facebook (Vote for
change in Ludhiana-Vote for Phoolka) and www.phoolkaforludhiana.com together with a
campaign on the social media called JUSTICE FOR GAGANPREET to garner public
support for the family.
Gaganpreet was beaten to death after R.D. Sharma, Deputy Mayor
threatened the family with dire consequences if he doesn’t leave his daughter.
Jaspreet Kaur, Gagans sister stated “We are facing threats that
they will kill my father if we do anything. I will get justice for my brother
no matter what. Our family will commit mass suicide if this doesn’t happen and
R.D. Sharma, the Punjab Govt. and the Punjab Police will be responsible for it.”
People raised slogans against the Gunda Raj of Punjab government and particularly the police department. Mr. Phoolka while sharing
the grief of the family said, “there can be nothing worse than losing a child
in this brutal manner. The accused must be punished appropriately. We support
the family in their demand that the Deputy Mayor be suspended and an FIR be
immediately registered. We are with them in this fight for justice for their son.
The government is waiting on public patience to erupt like a volcano. We will
stand by this family against all odds.”
Sharing his emotions and rage before media, Gaganpreet Nat’s
father Lakhwinder Singh said, “Since we lost our son, we have knocked every
single door to file our case but all in vain. Mr. Phoolka is the first person
who has bothered to come to us to share our grief. He is truly sincere and the
only hope for this city. I will be with him till the end and even after that.”
