Police DAV Public School observes Road Safety Week

The motive was to instill a sense of road safety

Ludhiana: 10th January, 2017: (Punjab Screen Bureau):
IPS Mr. Dhruv Dahiya, ADCP (Traffic) was the Guest of Honour for the day. The Chief Guest, while addressing the students, mentioned that the victims of the road accidents are mainly the youth who drive recklessly and break the traffic rules. He further encouraged the students to drive safely by following the traffic rules with the vision to be safe, responsible, highly aware future drivers. He advised the students to use helmets, seat belts, avoid mobile phones while driving and not to mix drinking with driving and ask the children to carry this message in their minds in the day to come. He shared his valuable information regarding road signs and informatory signs with the students which help them to comprehend the traffic signs displayed on the board. The motive behind this interactive session was to instill a sense of road safety amongst the students and sensitize them about the important issues. He also invited the students to join ‘Helping Hands’ Scheme through which the students will get first hand training of handling the traffic at various strategic points of the city. Dr. Mrs. Anu Verma, Principal of the school, in her addressal speech thanked the dignitary for sharing their estimable experiences with the students and staff. She said that the knowledge and adherence to traffic rules will help the students to be the good drivers on the roads and advised the students to prefer riding bicycles rather than motor vehicles till they attain the age of 18.

Police DAV Public School Police Line Ludhiana Event

Festival of “Victory of good over Evil”  celebrated 
Ludhiana: 7th October 2016: (Punjab Screen Bureau):
Police DAV Public School, Police Line Ludhiana celebrated the festival of “Victory of good over Evil’’ on Friday, October 07, 2016. On the occasion of Dusshera, kindergarten students came clad up as Ram, Laxman, Sita, Hanuman and Ravana. The festive mood gripped the students as they saw the effigy of Ravana, made up of waste papers and bamboo sticks. Students enjoyed watching Ramayana through a Ram Leela enacted by the kindergartener students. Music and Hymns in the praise of almighty Lord Ram were echoed in the school premises. The festive spirit culminated the celebration by blowing the hot air balloons and finally setting Ravana to flames. The children cheered and clapped as fire crackers entwined around Ravana burst creating an astounding light and sound. The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety. Dr. Mrs. Anu Verma, the Principal of the school greeted the staff and students on the occasion of Dusshera. She added the burning of the effigy of Ravana symbolized not only the victory of good over evil but also, an occasion to get rid of the demons that reside within us.

A Dance Show to honour Motherhood

Police DAV Public School, Police line, Civil Lines, Ludhiana honoured the motherhood on the occasion of ‘MOTHER’s DAY’ on SATURDAY MAY 07, 2016. The School took an initiative to invite the young mothers of its kindergarten section to explore their myriad moods on this event which was whole heartedly devoted to them. Dr. Mrs Anu Verma, the Principal of the School extended warm welcome to the mothers and wished them for their day and highlighted the famous saying “GOD CAN’T BE EVERYWHERE SO HE CREATED MOTHERS “. It was delight to watch tiny tots in bright and colourful attires coordinated with their mothers.

The mothers showcased their talents by participating in “DANCE SHOW” organized by School, which enable them to mark the day full of joy and zeal. The kids thoroughly enjoyed by tapping their little feet on the tunes of Non – Filmy Songs, well synchronized with the steps of their mothers. They danced with full of confidence and had a fun and gala day. Apart from this, the tiny tots expressed gratitude towards their mothers for their selfless support, by presenting a slew of Rhymes based on theme of “SALUTING MOTHERHOOD”. The students greeted their mothers with special Mother’s day cards and crowns which they had themselves decorated for the occasion. Speaking on the day, the Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of mothers and their wards and mentioned that such activities help to inculcate and sustain family values in the minds of young children.

Premier Investiture Ceremony at Police DAV Public School


A special assembly was organized 
Police DAV Public School organized the Premier Investiture Ceremony on Friday, May 6, 2016 to set up the four houses christened as Aviral, Ajay, Abhay and Agrim house . A special assembly was organized to designate the students with the title of Captains and Vice-Captains. IPS Mr Dhruv Dhaiya, ADCP (HQR) was the guest of honour for the day. 
Harman, Lovepreet Singh, Bhupesh and Hassanpreet were elected as the Captains and Vinod, Ajay, Vagish and Divij were elected as the Vice-Captains of the four houses respectively. The Oath Taking Ceremony was under taken by the Captains and Vice Captains in which they pledged to perform their duties faithfully and diligently. They were given formal badges by the Chief guest. IPS, Mr Dhruv Dhaiya, ADCP(HQR) congratulated the students and the staff members for the prestigious moment. He said that the rationale behind the  set-up of houses in the school is to promote healthy competition amongst the students. It will also develop healthy style of leadership which is vital in ones professional and personal life. Dr Mrs Anu Verma , Principal of the school , thanked the revered officer  for sharing his estimable thoughts with the students. She further said that house system will help the students to develop a spirit of competition amongst themselves which will surely help in the all round development of the students.
