Phoolka demanded De-recogination of SAD
Ludhiana: 13 March 2014: (Punjab screen Bureau):
Mr. H.S. Phoolka, AAP candidate from Ludhiana, submitted a representation/memorandum to Sh. V.K. Singh, Election Commissioner, Punjab today at Chandigarh. The Complaint was about blatant and flagrant violations of the Model Code of Conduct by the Shiromani Akali Dal Party (SAD) in the Ludhiana constituency.
The SAD has pasted lakhs of posters, banners and hoardings all over Ludhiana city and villages falling in the Ludhiana constituency. Over 5,00,000 posters have been pasted on walls in markets, on homes, on public buildings, and on other walls all over the constituency. In addition, over 50,000 huge hoardings of size ranging from 10 ft x 5 ft to much larger size, have been installed all over the Ludhiana constituency. Hoardings and posters of the SAD can be commonly seen on electric poles, bridges, flyovers, pillars supporting flyovers, and even on all the walls of a public cremation ground.
Mr. Phoolka made the following three demands:
1.   De-recognition of SAD.
2.   Commercial rates be charged for each hoarding an added to candidates election expenses.
3.   Separate case for defacement of public property be filled for each violation.
Near 100 photographs showing the violation was shown to the Election Commissioner. Sh. V.K. Singh was shocked to see the photographs and expressed concern over this blatant violation and assured Mr. Phoolka that all action in law would be taken against the party and its candidate within twenty four hours.
