The Directorate of Extension Education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will be organizing a two-day “Research and Extension Specialists’ Workshop for Rabi Crops” on August 16 and 17. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU will inaugurate the workshop on August 16. Dr J.S. Bains, Director of Agriculture, Punjab will speak on “Rabi crops production, targets and problems in Punjab.” The officials from the State Department of Agriculture; Directors of PAU Regional Stations; District Extension Specialists (Senior Most); Deputy/Associate Directors (Training) from Krishi Vigyan Kendras; and University experts would participate in the workshop. The experts would deliberate on cultivation of wheat, barley, pulses, oilseeds, maize, forage and millets in addition to agricultural engineering,agro-forestry and economics of rabi crops. An exhibition, showcasing various crop varieties alongwith their production-protection technologies, would also be put up by various departments of the University.
